Recently, gold prices have entered a "surge" mode. On the 3rd, international spot gold broke through $3545 per ounce, following its breakthrough of the $3500 per ounce mark on the 2nd, continuing to set new highs.
In the first quarter of 2025, gold jewelry consumption in the Chinese market was 125 tons, a year-on-year decline of 32%; in the second quarter, gold jewelry consumption further weakened to 69 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 20%, and a quarter-on-quarter decline of 45%.
However, market demand is diverse. Some hold onto their coins and watch the market due to high prices, while others turn to lighter gold jewelry products. There are also some consumers who value the value preservation function of gold; even if the prices are high, when they encounter a style they like, they will grit their teeth and make a purchase.
