It has been a tough week, hasn’t it? Even if you lost everything ( like I did ), I will still continue to talk you out of doomscrolling. Instead, it’s better to read some interesting facts about bees:
1. Bees existed during the time of the dinosaurs, their fossils date back over 100 million years.
2. To gather just one kilogram of honey, a bee would have to visit around four million flowers and fly a distance equal to four trips around the Earth.
3. Bees have five eyes: two large compound eyes on the sides of the head and three simple eyes on the top of the head.
4. A queen bee can lay up to 2000 eggs a day, which exceeds her own weight.
5. Honey bees communicate with each other through a special "dance" that shows the direction and distance to the food source.
6. Bees never sleep, but at night they remain still inside the hive, conserving energy.
7. All worker bees in the hive are females. Male drones are needed only for fertilizing the queen and do not perform any other work.
8. Bees have a highly developed sense of smell, they can detect the scent of flowers from a distance of up to one kilometer.
9. Twelve bees work their entire lives to produce one teaspoon of honey.
10. Bees cannot trade ETH on the Gate exchange.
