##Standard Chartered raised the forecast for Ethereum to $7500

13.08.2025

Miroslava Andreeva By the end of this year, Ethereum will rise to $7500, and by 2028 it could reach $25,000. This was stated by analysts at Standard Chartered, writes The Block.

The head of the digital asset research department, Jeffrey Kendrick, is confident that the altcoin will surpass its ATH of $4866 in the current quarter. He highlighted several factors contributing to the growth of the altcoin.

###Ethereum Drivers

According to Kendrick, since June corporate treasuries and ETFs have accumulated 3.8% of the market supply of Ethereum. This rate is nearly double that of Bitcoin's similar figures for the same period.

BitMine Immersion and SharpLink Gaming have acquired about 2.3 million ETH (1.9% of the supply ). The rest was accounted for by spot exchange-traded funds. On August 12, the daily influx into these structures reached a record $1.02 billion.

An important event for Ethereum was also the signing of the GENIUS Act in July, which established federal regulations for stablecoins. More than half of the existing "stable coins" operate on Ethereum and generate 40% of all fees in the network.

According to Kendrick, the adoption of the GENIUS Act will increase activity in the ecosystem of the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Standard Chartered predicts that the market capitalization of stablecoins will reach $2 trillion by 2028.

The analyst highlighted the technical progress in the development of Ethereum. In particular, he pointed out the developers' plans to increase the throughput of the main network. The next large-scale update Fusaka will be deployed in early November.

###Trend on Ethereum Treasuries

The cryptocurrency fund Pantera Capital invested $300 million in companies operating under the DAT model. The flagship asset became shares of BitMine, which has 1.2 million ETH worth over $5.3 billion. The firm aims to accumulate 5% of the total Ether supply.

Pantera partners praised BitMine's business model, which is based on maximizing the number of tokens per share (EPS). According to them, the company employs several strategies to achieve this:

  • issuance of shares with a premium to NAV;
  • convertible bonds;
  • staking and income from DeFi;
  • mergers and acquisitions

In one month, the company accumulated more than Strategy did in its first six months, experts emphasized.

"As of the end of June, BMNR shares were trading at $4.27 each, which was about 1.1 times their NAV of $4 per share after the initial capital raise through DAT. Just over a month later, the closing price was $51, or about 1.7x the estimated NAV of $30 per share. This represents a 1100% increase in just one month," calculated Pantera.

In addition to BitMine, the fund has also invested in companies that invest in Bitcoin, Solana, BNB, TON, Hyperliquid, Sui, and Ethena.

Recall that on August 8, Vitalik Buterin supported the trend of accumulating Ethereum. However, he noted that excessive use of borrowed funds by companies could turn this into a "dangerous game."

On August 12, Ethereum surpassed Bitcoin in growth rates for the first time since 2024. The next day, the price of the cryptocurrency exceeded $4600, approaching its ATH.
