[WTO Confirms Brazil Has Filed a Lawsuit Against U.S. Tariff Measures] Jin10 Data, August 11 - On August 11 local time, the World Trade Organization announced that Brazil has initiated a dispute lawsuit against the tariff measures implemented by the U.S. government under the WTO dispute resolution mechanism. On August 5 local time, Brazilian President Lula stated that the U.S. President has no authority to impose a 50% high tariff on Brazil. The Brazilian government will protect affected workers and businesses and will use all available means, starting with filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization, to defend national interests. The lawsuit request has been submitted to WTO members on the same day.
