OpenAI has launched the new generation reasoning model o3-pro, which has powerful capabilities, able to search the web, analyze documents, and perform visual reasoning, among others. In internal testing, this model outperformed other competitors in multiple Benchmark tests, and the o3 series models saw an 80% price reduction.

OpenAI announced the launch of a new generation of inference model o3-pro, and said that this is the most capable AI model at present. OpenAI says o3-pro has access to tools, which allow it to search the web, analyze files, reason about visual input, use Python, personalize its responses with memory, and more. According to OpenAI’s internal tests, o3-pro surpassed Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro in the math benchmark AIME 2024 and Anthropic Claude 4 Opus in the PhD-level scientific test GPQA Diamond, demonstrating leading performance in the field of inference models. In addition, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on social media that the price of OpenAI’s inference model o3 has been reduced by 80%.
