The FanDuel Mare Trot Championship

The FanDuel Mare Trot Championship was added to the harness racing calendar in 2015, with it being designed to crown the season’s top female trotter.
It’s part of the FanDuel Championship Series, launched in 2013 by Meadowlands President Jeff Gural to create a high-stakes, year-end event akin to Thoroughbred racing’s Breeders’ Cup.
The race invites top-performing mares based on their success in Grand Circuit stakes races during the season. The race is contested over one mile on The Meadowlands’ one-mile oval.
The 2024 edition, was a standout event!Winner, Nelsonbriteagle NO, a 6-year-old Norwegian-bred mare trained by Ake Svanstedt and driven by Dexter Dunn, won in a record-breaking time of 1:49.4, the fastest in the race’s history.
The purse for the FanDuel Mare Trot is a $150,000 prize, and is open to fillies and mare's aged 3 years and up.
