Robinhood is developing a blockchain-based program that allows European traders to access U.S. financial assets, two people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

According to reports, the new platform is being built in partnership with digital asset companies, and three blockchains are being considered: Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Solana.

Tokenized assets have become a key area for traditional financial companies to further venture into the cryptocurrency (virtual currency) sector. In the past, several companies have launched tokenized funds, and some analysts predict that the market size will grow to $23.4 trillion (approximately 3370 trillion yen, based on an exchange rate of 144 yen per dollar) by 2033.

Tokenization refers to the process of digitizing traditional assets into digital tokens on the blockchain, which enhances data security, enables rapid transaction settlements, and improves liquidity, among various other benefits.

Vlad Tenev, the CEO of Robinhood, criticized the current U.S. regulations in January for not providing a clear framework or rules regarding the registration of security Tokens. He stated that it hinders a significant financial shift that could open up investments in private markets to retail investors through tokenization.
