According to a report by Cointelegraph on April 30, scammers are sending physical letters to Ledger hardware wallet users, impersonating Ledger to request users provide their private mnemonic phrases in an attempt to gain control of their wallets. These letters use Ledger's logo, company address, and reference numbers to disguise their authenticity, claiming that users need to immediately perform a "key security update."

Ledger has officially confirmed that this is a scam and reminds users that it will never request mnemonic phrases in any way.
