After Trump suspended tariffs, traders reduced their bets on a Federal Reserve (FED) rate cut in May.

On April 10, U.S. President Trump stated on Wednesday that the plan to significantly increase tariffs on most countries announced last week would be suspended for 90 days. Subsequently, traders significantly reduced their bets on the Federal Reserve starting to cut interest rates in May. Interest rate futures trading shows that traders now believe the likelihood of the U.S. starting to cut rates in June is much greater than in May. They still believe that by the end of this year, the Federal Reserve will have cut rates a total of four times. ( Jin10 )
