Suspect Takashi Kimura denies 'intent to kill' in the attack on Fumio Adachi

On February 4, Jinshi Data reported that the suspect, Takaji Kimura, who attacked former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, was accused of throwing explosives near Fumio Kishida in Wakayama City, and was suspected of attempted murder, among other charges. During the trial that day, Takaji Kimura admitted to making the explosives, but claimed he had 'no intention to kill' and denied some of the charges. It is reported that Takaji Kimura remained silent during the investigation after his arrest. On April 15, 2023, when Fumio Kishida was preparing to give a speech in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture, an explosion suddenly occurred on the scene, and Takaji Kimura was arrested on the spot by the police on suspicion of throwing explosives.
