Special Investigation Department for the Establishment of Martial Law in South Korea

On December 6th, Jin10 News reported that the Korean Ministry of Inspection and Supervision announced today that it will form a special investigation department headed by Park Se-hyeon, the chief prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, to conduct a serious investigation into the '12.3 Emergency Martial Law Incident'. During the Park Geun-hye administration in 2016, the Korean prosecution established a special investigation department to investigate the political scandal involving Park's close friend Choi Soon-sil (later renamed Choi Seo-won). Korean media analysis pointed out that the Korean prosecution has established a special investigation department similar to the Park Geun-hye era, indicating its determination to conduct a concentrated investigation due to the serious nature of the emergency martial law incident.
