ScamSniffer: Phishing losses in August reached 63 million USD in encryption, with a decrease in the number of victims but a sharp increase in losses

According to the phishing report released by ScamSniffer in August, about 9,145 victims lost approximately $63 million in cryptocurrency phishing scams. Compared to July, the number of victims decreased by 34%, but the stolen amount increased by 215%. One victim lost as much as $55 million in a phishing scam targeting proxy ownership. The report pointed out that the number of fake accounts on X platform (formerly Twitter) has significantly decreased. ScamSniffer recommends optimizing the display of major phishing features and integrating their phishing domain and address blacklist to protect users.

Although decentralization is a fundamental value of blockchain, the Rollup solution, aimed at increasing Ethereum's scalability, sacrifices some decentralization features. Achieving complete decentralization for such transactions poses challenges, particularly regarding sorting and settlement proofs for optimistic Rollup and zero-knowledge (zk) Rollup.
