On August 16, Jinshi Data reported that today (August 16), the lower house of the Thai parliament held a meeting to vote on the prime minister candidate. Pheu Thai Party leader Pheu Thai Party leader Betongdan Sinawatra, nominated by the Pheu Thai Party and its ruling coalition, received more than half of the support and was elected as the new prime minister of Thailand. Betongdan, born in 1986, is the daughter of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin. In the 2023 general election, Betongdan is one of the prime ministerial candidates for the Pheu Thai Party.
