The Sudanese government and the United States have held consultations on the Geneva negotiation and have not reached an agreement.
Jinshi data news on August 11th, local time on the 11th, Sudan's Minister of Minerals Mohamed Abu Noomo issued a statement that Sudan and the United States have ended consultations on the Sudanese armed conflict ceasefire negotiations held in Jeddah, the Saudi Red Sea port city. The two sides did not reach an agreement on whether the Sudanese government or the Sudanese armed forces should participate in the ceasefire negotiations. The Sudanese delegation returned to the port city of Port Sudan in eastern Sudan on the same day. The United States recently invited the Sudanese conflict parties to hold ceasefire negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland from August 14th, and said that the negotiations will be co-chaired by the United States and Saudi Arabia, with the United Nations, the African Union, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates participating as observers. On the 9th of this month, the Sudanese government sent a delegation led by the Minister of Minerals Mohamed Abu Noomo to Jeddah to discuss the Geneva ceasefire negotiations with the United States. The topics of discussion include the Geneva negotiation agenda, determining the negotiation process, and implementing the supervision of the ceasefire protocol.
