Japan and Bahrain hold their first strategic dialogue focusing on energy security and the situation in the Middle East.

Jin10 reported on September 9th that Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif al-Zayani agreed on Tuesday to deepen cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including energy and security. During their first strategic dialogue held in Tokyo, Kono expressed concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. The two ministers also discussed the situation in the Middle East. Kono stated that any actions that undermine the foundation of the "two-state solution" for peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel are unacceptable. Both sides agreed to closely cooperate on international issues and reiterated the importance of dialogue in resolving the Iranian nuclear issue.
