NBIS's surge after today's earnings report reminded me of a devilish detail. Previously, Big Short Burry chose to short the stock directly rather than buy put options because the implied volatility of the $NBIS put options exceeded 100%
So this time, by shorting directly, unlike options, losses cannot be effectively capped and are theoretically unlimited. NBIS has rebounded so much from the bottom, yet its market cap is only $70 billion—not exactly a large-cap stock
And is his counterparty at this very moment Citadel, which just happened to take down the new AI stock god Leopold?

CoreWeave just jumped 21% after delivering its strongest earnings report yet.
Revenue reached $2.58B, up 112% and above expectations, while the adjusted loss came in better than analysts expected.
The bigger signal may be demand.
Revenue backlog has climbed to $104B, with another $25B in new commitments already signed in early Q3.
CoreWeave also says capacity is fully sold out and raised prices by 25% in July.
AI infrastructure demand is still running hot.

At $1,375 for SNDK, are you chasing it?

First, look at the surface: explosive earnings, collapsing stock price.

It fell 12% over the past week, dropping from 1,400+ back to the 1,200-1,300 range, down more than 48% from its ATH of 2,354. Crypto-wide futures liquidations totaled $12.83 million in one hour, second only to BTC and ETH. The 1,200-1,300 range is both previous support and a psychological threshold, while RSI has entered oversold territory. This is either a golden buying opportunity or an abyss.

First: earnings were “above expectations, but not above them enough,” and Wall Street is forcing you to sell at a loss.

Q4 revenue was $8.97B, up 372% year over year and 51% quarter over quarter, beating expectations of $8.39 billion. Gross margin was 84.6%, versus just 26.4% in the same period last year. EPS was $39.25, 135 times the $0.29 reported a year ago. Data center revenue doubled, the company signed $93.9 billion in long-term contracts, added $14 billion to its buyback program, and has $15.5 billion in remaining buyback authorization.

And the result? The stock price plunged.

The reason is so absurd you want to laugh: next-quarter guidance was $10.3-$10.8 billion, with the midpoint “slightly below the most optimistic expectations.” Just because of that? Yes, just because it “failed to satisfy everyone’s fantasies,” Wall Street hammered the stock down 20%.

Second: whales are aggressively buying the dip around 1,200-1,300. What are you panicking about?

On August 6, a top whale bought a $12.5 million long position in SNDK at $1,241.9 using 2x leverage. Another “storage winner” that had completed 11 profitable trades on SNDK and MU and earned a net $2.83 million sold at 1,390, then bought back in across four levels—1,251, 1,301, 1,308, and 1,401—for a cumulative purchase of nearly $11 million.

Third: Do you think you’re trading an AI bubble? You’re betting on the infrastructure of humanity’s next decade.

SanDisk is not trading on “hype”; it is the water and electricity of the AI era. AI training requires reading massive amounts of data, while inference requires high-speed storage.

The $93.9 billion in long-term contracts cover half of FY27 and two-thirds of FY28 production, locking in an 80% gross margin. The company added $14 billion in buybacks and still has $15.5 billion in ammunition remaining.

The bulls and bears are facing off. You decide.

On one side:

Q4 revenue of $8.97 billion, up 372% year over year, with AI storage demand surging

Gross margin of 84.6% and EPS of $39.25; all three metrics set new all-time records

$93.9 billion in long-term contracts lock in revenue for the next three years, alongside an additional $14 billion in buybacks

From 2,354 down to 1,370, the stock has pulled back more than 40%, and its valuation has been substantially digested

Whales are adding to their positions against the trend at 1,200-1,300, while OI has risen 40% instead of falling

On the other side:

Guidance was “slightly below the most optimistic expectations,” damaging short-term sentiment

NAND cycle volatility risks have not been eliminated

Overall AI semiconductor valuations are currently undergoing compression

If 1,150-1,100 breaks, panic selling could drive the price down to 1,000

Key levels

Upside resistance: 1,400-1,450 → 1,500-1,600 → 1,800+ → ATH 2,354

Downside support: 1,200-1,300 (strong support + psychological threshold) → 1,150 (lifeline) → 1,000

Trading strategy

Short-term traders:

Start with a small position in the 1,200-1,300 range, set a stop-loss at 1,150, and take profits in batches at 1,400-1,450. Add to the position on a breakout above 1,450, targeting 1,600+.

Swing traders:

Wait for the price to stabilize after retesting 1,200-1,250, then add on a long lower wick or high-volume bullish candle; chase the move after a valid breakout above 1,450 and sustained trading above it, targeting 1,800+. Cut losses decisively if 1,150 breaks.

Long-term believers:

Dollar-cost average in batches below 1,300 and hold for at least six months. SanDisk is the undisputed leader in AI storage, with long-term contracts locking in revenue, buybacks supporting the stock price, and AI capital expenditures still accelerating—three converging catalysts, with a year-end 2026 target of 1,800-2,200.

SNDK now looks like Nvidia in 2023—

99% of people thought, “After rising 10x, it has to crash,” but when it pulled back from 200 to 140, nobody dared to buy. It later rose to 1,000.

The day 1,450 breaks, you’ll realize:

It wasn’t the storage bubble that burst—you were simply scared out of the AI revolution halfway up the mountain every time.

What is your cost basis for SNDK?

On closer inspection, the Meme + TradFi approach still has potential. It is already an established fact that stocks and commodities currently have far higher trading volumes on CEXs and perpdexes than altcoins. In any case, this shift in trading habits is already irreversible in the short term.
There are many small-cap U.S. stocks with market caps comparable to those of altcoins that actually have no trading volume, but if they could be brought into crypto and turned into tokenized stocks, perhaps they could be combined with meme mechanics and become hot commodities. Stocks cannot be manipulated, but the tokens representing their underlying pools can.

Will tonight’s 20:30 CPI data be like last Friday’s blockbuster nonfarm payrolls report—neither bearish when it should be nor bullish when it should be, ultimately amounting to nothing?

Tonight’s consensus CPI forecast is currently bullish on a year-over-year basis, suggesting that inflation will remain under control over the medium to long term without increasing the likelihood of additional rate hikes. The monthly figures are bearish, likely due largely to the impact of last month’s escalating U.S.-Iran conflict, which drove oil prices above $80 and kept them there for an extended period.

ETH Was Pulled Back to $1,905 by CPI—Are You Buying?

First, the surface-level view: favorable data, explosive rebound.

Over the past 24 hours, ETH rebounded from $1,850 to $1,910, gaining 3%, breaking above $1,900 on increased volume, and reclaiming the 20-day and 100-day moving averages. The intraday high came close to $1,918. Active on-chain addresses surged to their highest level since March, exchange outflows increased, and whales quietly accumulated at lower levels. A series of higher lows has formed since the June low of $1,520, short-term momentum has turned positive, and the rebound is not over—but $1,925 is the line of death.

First: CPI saved the day, but the Fed’s knife has not been put away.

July CPI came in at 3.4% year over year, as expected, while core CPI at 2.5% month over month was moderate, sending the market straight into euphoria—ETH instantly bounced 3% from $1,850.

But core inflation remains sticky, and the probability of a rate hike at the September FOMC meeting is still 44%. Rate cuts? Still a long way off. One CPI reading in line with expectations does not mean the bull market is back; it only means the bears are taking a temporary breather.

Second: Whales are buying while retail investors are calling ETH “junk.”

Multiple addresses made large withdrawals, with purchases in the 50,000 ETH range. Exchange outflows continue to rise, Fidelity is advancing ETF staking and dividend initiatives, and BitMine’s holdings have exceeded 5.8 million ETH.

Institutions are quietly accumulating in the $1,850–$1,900 range, while retail investors are complaining, “ETH is down 55% in a year—what a garbage asset.”

BlackRock and Fidelity are betting on staking yields, upgrades, Glamsterdam scaling, and expanded institutional access.

Third: The technical picture is showing two signals—one heavenly, one hellish.

First, heaven: From $1,520 to $1,910, ETH has formed a clear higher-low structure and successfully reclaimed the 20-day and 100-day moving averages, which sit around $1,890–$1,894. Funds are making modest purchases and trading volume has increased—this provides a foundation for the rebound to continue.

Now, hell: $1,925 is the 4-hour Supertrend resistance level, $1,950 is a liquidation-heavy zone, $2,000 is the psychological threshold, and $2,035 is the 200-day moving average—four barriers stacked together like a wall. The Elliott Wave target points to $1,978, but only if $1,925 is cleared first.

The Bulls and Bears Are Clashing—You Decide

On one side:

- Positive CPI and rising odds of a pause in rate hikes in September, signaling marginal macroeconomic improvement
- Whale accumulation, exchange outflows, and continued institutional buying
- Active on-chain addresses hitting a three-month high, showing strong network usage
- Staking, ETF dividends, and the upgrade roadmap providing long-term support
- A high-volume breakout above key moving averages, with the technical picture leaning bullish

On the other side:

- Dense resistance at $1,925–$1,950, with repeated historical rejections at higher levels
- ETH is down 35% year to date and 55% over one year, with the trend still in a choppy recovery
- L2s are diverting fee capture, and value accumulation still needs to be validated through upgrades
- The September rate-hike probability remains elevated, so the macro picture is not one-sided
- If $2,000 cannot be broken, ETH could fall back to $1,850 or even $1,815

Key Levels

Resistance above: $1,925 → $1,950 → $2,000 → $2,035 (200-day moving average)

Support below: $1,890 → $1,850 (strong support) → $1,815–$1,800 (iron floor)

Trading Strategy

For short-term traders:

Go lightly long on a pullback to $1,890–$1,900, set a stop-loss below $1,875, and target $1,925, taking half off first, then $1,950. If $1,925 breaks on increased volume and holds, add to the position and target $2,000. If $1,925 cannot be cleared, the bulls are just paper tigers.

For swing traders:

Build positions in batches within the $1,850–$1,900 range, set a stop-loss below $1,800, and target $2,100–$2,200 after a break above $2,000. Reduce exposure and wait if $1,850 breaks decisively, then re-enter at the lower support levels of $1,750–$1,700.

For long-term believers:

The $1,800–$1,900 dollar-cost-averaging window remains open. With the staking rate above 30%, ETF staking coming online, and the Glamsterdam upgrade expected in Q3, the fundamentals are healthy; the price is simply recovering. But remember: a genuine trend reversal requires a sustained move above $2,000.

Risk Management:

Keep each trade below 5–8% of total capital, do not use more than 5–10x leverage on perpetuals, and always set a stop-loss. Volatility expands around macroeconomic data releases, so do not go all-in or hold losing positions indefinitely.

ETH Now Looks Like Bitcoin in January 2025

Every CPI-driven rebound brought people out shouting, “The bull market is back,” only for the price to be knocked down at resistance. That continued until February 2025, when it actually broke through.

A trader’s fate is this: you must still be in the game on the sixth, seventh, and eighth attempts.

On the day $1,925 breaks, you will realize:

It wasn’t that ETH was incapable—it was that you got off every time just before resistance.

DOS at $0.35—are you buying?

Start with the surface-level picture: a new token listing, a surge followed by a sell-off, and retail traders blaming “market makers” for taking their money.

DOS was listed on multiple exchanges in quick succession two days ago, surged to an ATH of $0.71, and then plunged to $0.35, losing 50%+. Its 24-hour range was $0.35–$0.54, with huge trading volume and an astonishing turnover rate—a classic “listing pump–distribution” pattern that every new token seems to follow: pump, dump, and then what?

First: The airdrop sell-off isn’t over yet.

The 6% airdrop allocation is still being released. Early users received free tokens, and not selling would be foolish. Every red candle you see represents an airdrop recipient making a graceful exit.

The airdrop sell-off is short term, and the lock-up arrangements are short term, but the AI OS narrative is long term. The question is: Can you withstand two weeks of selling pressure?

Second: The funding background is frighteningly strong, but fundamentals don’t matter much for a new token.

Polychain Capital, Sequoia China, IDG, OK Ventures—more than $20 million in cumulative funding.

But at the new-token stage, valuation is based not on fundamentals, but on liquidity and narrative.

The total supply is 1 billion, with only 200 million in circulation (20%), putting the circulating market cap at around $70 million, while the FDV is as high as $350 million.

The team and investors’ 42.5% allocation is subject to a 12-month cliff followed by a 48-month linear vesting schedule. There won’t be much short-term selling, but over the long term, this allocation will always hang over the market like a sword.

Third: A key signal has appeared on the technical chart.

The $0.33–$0.35 area is being tested repeatedly. If it stabilizes on declining volume, a rebound may be brewing. But if $0.33 breaks on heavy volume, the next stop is $0.28–$0.30, or even lower.

Trading volume once exceeded 200% of the market cap, indicating extremely high speculative activity. But it also means that if large funds want to exit, they can do so at any time.

You decide who has the upper hand in the bull-bear battle.

On one side:

Backing from top institutions including Polychain, Sequoia, IDG, and OK Ventures

The AI+Web3 narrative is hot, and the products xBubble and Intent Execution Network have real-world use cases

Listed on multiple CEXs, with acceptable liquidity

The $0.33–$0.35 area is stabilizing on declining volume, and an oversold rebound may be due

On the other side:

Airdrop selling pressure is still being absorbed, and another wave may follow after Launchpool ends on August 16

Only 20% is in circulation, the FDV is severely overvalued, and its intrinsic value is questionable

A new token “pumping and then falling” is the norm; $0.35 may not be the bottom

If BTC pulls back, high-beta new tokens will be hit first

Key levels

Upside resistance: $0.40–$0.45 → $0.50+ → $0.71 (ATH)

Downside support: $0.33 → $0.28–$0.30 → $0.20–$0.25

Trading strategy

For short-term traders:

After the $0.34–$0.36 range stabilizes on declining volume, cautiously open a small long position, with a stop-loss below $0.32 and a target of $0.42–$0.45. If $0.33 breaks on heavy volume, cautiously open a small short position, with a stop-loss above $0.38 and targets of $0.30–$0.28.

Wait for a clear bottoming structure, such as a 4H double bottom or a high-volume breakout following low-volume consolidation. Build a small position on the left side of the $0.30–$0.35 range, with a stop-loss at $0.25–$0.28 and targets at a retest of the previous high and potential narrative catalysts.

For long-term believers:

If you genuinely believe in the AI OS sector, allocate a small position and track product updates, user growth, and the unlock schedule. But going long on a new token means aiming for a 100x return while accepting that it could also go to zero.

Risk-management rules:

Risk no more than 1–2% of your account per trade, and monitor BTC’s trend. Don’t go all-in; the bottom for a new token is always lower than you imagine. Prepare for the worst-case scenario—below $0.20 is not impossible.

DOS’s current script—

Exactly the same as every newly listed VC-backed token: listing → pump → distribution → slow decline → sideways trading → waiting for the next catalyst.

In the world of VC-backed tokens, you make money from volatility, not value.

Is DOS at $0.35 a diamond bottom or halfway down the mountain? The answer is: Only the market makers know.

Did you catch DOS’s falling knife? What’s your cost basis?
