According to Galxe’s 2025 year-in-review, the platform had grown to about 36 million users, more than 7,700 partner projects, and 1 million daily active users. Galxe Quest, Galxe Passport, Galxe ID, and related products remain the main ways teams run no-code campaigns, issue credentials, manage identity, and onboard users at scale.
This guide explains how Galxe’s credential data network works, what changed in the GAL to G migration at a ratio of 1 GAL = 60 G, how Gravity L1 fits into the ecosystem, and why the platform matters if you want decentralized identity infrastructure, token utility, and access to a large multi-chain Web3 user base. Gravity L1 Mainnet is live, and Gravity Alpha Mainnet is scheduled to shut down on November 1, 2026. Users with assets or staked $G on Alpha need to move them before that date.
Galxe continues to operate as a leading Web3 growth and credential platform, while Gravity provides the high-performance chain underneath. The original GAL token still appears on some market pages, but the active token is $G after the completed migration.
The credential and growth stack has expanded beyond the original data network:
Galxe is used by large Web3 ecosystems for quests, testnets, and token distributions. Recent campaign partners have included projects across L1s, L2s, and AI networks. The platform’s public materials also cite brands such as Coinbase, Polygon, and Optimism as growth users.
$G is the live market ticker for the upgraded token. Its market cap is typically calculated by multiplying the token price by the circulating supply. Traders also check exchange or ranking list pages for live visibility today. Legacy GAL liquidity has wound down as the migration finished.

Users looking for the current Galxe/Gravity token should trade **$G**, not the deprecated GAL ticker. Availability depends on the exchange listing. On Gate, check the live G spot market rather than older GAL pairs.
Galxe has moved from a credential data network to a broader growth layer sitting on Gravity L1. Credentials, quests, and identity tools are still the product users see; the chain and $G token now sit underneath that stack.
Web technology has undergone many changes to improve how people access information and interact with websites. The first generation, Web 1.0, brought information that people from anywhere in the world could view. With Web2.0, the same information was available, but the websites and online applications all required a centralized database for effective functionality. The third generation, Web 3.0, is being adopted with one important feature, decentralization.
With Web 3.0, users and developers are catered to, centralized systems are done away with, and that power is collectively put back into the community. One project that is making this possible is Galxe. In this article, we will explore the infrastructure of Galxe, the project’s growth since its launch, and how it impacts credentials in Web 3.0.
Formerly known as Project Galaxy, Galxe is a Web3 growth and credential platform. Created in 2021, it was first designed as an open credential infrastructure network, allowing developers and brands to build products and connect with communities. It now also runs on Gravity, the Layer 1 blockchain built by Galxe.
Most times, access to credential data is limited. Credential data is often controlled by governmental, financial, and credit institutions that hold the most rights to it via secured databases. Galxe sought to bring that data to a decentralized platform, where it could be better accessed by individuals and companies that need it. With Galxe, credential data is available on an open collaborative network that can be accessed by Web3 developers or projects.
Simply put, credentials are evidence of a user’s actions on the web. An example of a credential within the crypto space is the record of a user’s loan from Compound. In the era of Web 2.0, credential data is normally stored in private databases, often owned by applications, financial and government institutions, or even regulatory bodies. The use cases for credential data are almost limitless, but that access is limited. At the core of Web3 technology are decentralization and open data sets. Galxe curates that data and brings it to a network where individuals and brands can use it for campaigns, identity, and access.
Galxe is a unique platform with outstanding features that define the project. Some of these features include:

Dubbed the Web3 LinkedIn, Galxe ID is a digital credential feature that allows users to create a universal identity that can be used both on and off the chain. Each user owns a username, to which their chain and wallet identities in Web3 are tied. The feature also allows users to display collected credentials and the history of their achievements within the Web3 space.
Galxe ID also incorporates Metaverse DID, enabling users to customize their digital credentials by utilizing the Galxe ID toolkit. To set up a Galxe ID, visit the Galxe website, connect a wallet, and set a username.
After Project Galaxy rebranded to Galxe, the project launched Galxe Passport, connected to Galxe ID. The passport allows users to store identity data more securely and use that identity across different Web3 applications.
Upon verification, Galxe Passport users can receive a unique soulbound token designed to help campaigns reduce Sybil attacks. The product prioritizes safety by encrypting private information and avoiding storing data in plain text.
Galxe’s story begins with the Nekrutenko Lab, one of the Center for Comparative Genomics and Bioinformatics laboratories at Penn State University. The developers who worked on the project included members from Oregon Health & Science University’s Goecks Lab alongside Johns Hopkins University’s Taylor Lab. The original team eventually grew into a global team.
Created in 2021, Galxe reached early milestones by minting credential NFTs on BNB Chain and Ethereum. By the end of that year, it went live on other networks, including Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom. Sub-features such as Galaxy OAT and Galaxy Dashboard followed. Galaxy OAT, or On-Chain Achievement Token, gives community managers a way to run NFT campaigns and distribute rewards.
By the end of 2022, Galxe said more than 500,000 NFTs were being minted monthly, with 952 ecosystem partners and over 6 million ID users. In later years the product line expanded to Quest, Earndrop, Score, and Smart Savings, while Gravity moved from Alpha Mainnet to Gravity L1.
The main goal of Galxe is to give developers and data consumers the tools they need to curate digital credentials and send data to networks.
The architecture is based on contributors and users who contribute data to the network. Curators can use multiple data sources. The credentials are of two types: on-chain credentials in the form of subgraph queries and static snapshots, and off-chain credentials from integrated data sources such as Snapshot.org.

The Galxe credential data network is open, so contributors who curate data sets can receive incentives when projects use their data.
The Galxe architecture comprises unique features that define the Web3 credential and growth project. Some of these features include:
At the core of Galxe is an open credential data network that accepts both on-chain and off-chain credentials. Curators are incentivized to contribute data from multiple streams. For on-chain credentials, curators can contribute data from supported chain ecosystems through wallet snapshots or graph queries. Off-chain credentials can come from integrated sources such as GitHub, Twitter/X, and Discord. Contributors may receive rewards when their datasets are used in Galxe’s credential engine, APIs, and application modules.
Like most decentralized projects, Galxe’s DAO has a native token. That token was originally GAL. AfterDAOapproval, GALwasupgradedto G at 1 GAL = 60 G.
Across the galxe ecosystem, $G is now used across both Galxe and Gravity:
Holders of the active token still have a say in decisions such as platform fees and community treasury use, and they can participate in governance decisions tied to the network. The first GAL airdrop was announced in 2022 to reward early users. The GAL-to-G migration is complete, and Galxe has said the old migration page would be taken down in August 2026.
The original total supply of GAL was 200 million. 8% was unlocked at launch on May 5, 2022: 2% for early adopter rewards, and 6% allocated across the Binance launch pool and the Project Galaxy ecosystem.
After the upgrade, Ghasamaximumsupplyof12billion.IttradesnativelyonGravityL1,withERC−20representationsonEthereumandothersupportednetworks.UsersshouldtreatG as the current token and verify the official contract before transferring.
Gravity is the Layer 1 built by Galxe. Gravity Alpha Mainnet was the first production phase. Gravity L1 Mainnet is now live, and Galxe has migrated most core services onto it.
Gravity Alpha is scheduled to stop network operations on November 1, 2026. Before the shutdown, users should bridge assets to Gravity L1 Mainnet or Ethereum. After that date, assets left on Alpha cannot be transferred. Galxe has also said the GstakingpagetiedtoAlphawillclose, sostakedG should be withdrawn before the deadline.
In the project’s white paper, a series of case studies are explained to showcase the practical impact of Galxe. Here’s a brief look at some case studies and their results.
In a partnership with Hashflow, Galxe managed to grow the decentralized exchange platform from 3,000 users to 13,000 weekly and achieve many other milestones. The partnership introduced Galxe’s credential-based NFT feature in the Hashbot Genesis campaign. The campaign dropped a series of NFTs referred to as the Hashbot Genesis that could be claimed by Hashflow users. Ten drops and more than 20,000 minted NFTs later, Hashflow crossed its $250 million trading volume. The CEO of the project expressed that Galxe’s NFT infrastructure met all of their needs as a project.
With a portfolio of multiple blockchain ecosystems, Galxe introduced Solana as its first non-EVM chain. Galxe opted to grow the Solana ecosystem through an inclusive multi-chain campaign to help 27 different protocols reach their marketing goals. Solana and Galxe launched the “2022 is Gonna be SOL COOL” campaign with a prize pool of $1,000,000. The campaign required users to embark on a treasure hunt for 27 NFTs across leading protocols, including Port Finance, Dappio, Orca, and Jupiter. The campaign introduced more than 30,000 users to the Solana ecosystem.
Galxe has shown itself to be useful for developers and data consumers who want to establish digital credentials, run quests, and grow communities. The project is backed by a large user base and a wide partner network.
That does not make $G a guaranteed investment. The token now also carries Gravity L1 gas and staking utility, but price still depends on usage, emissions, liquidity, and market conditions. Users should separate Galxe’s product growth from token performance.
To own $G, you can use a centralized exchange. Start by creating a Gate account, get it verified and funded. Then search for the live G market rather than the legacy GAL ticker. If you’re adding the token to a wallet interface, some platforms let you do it with one click.
Earlier coverage noted Galxe’s 2022 participation agreement with Optimism and the Optimism Quests learn-to-earn campaign. More recent updates are operational: Gravity L1 is live, the GAL-to-G migration is finished, Starboard was sunset in 2026, and Gravity Alpha will shut down on November 1, 2026.
