This how-to suits beginner-to-intermediate readers who already separate the launcher from the ecosystem token; that split is covered in what Clanker is. The largest operational risks are network or contract mismatches and treating a spoof front end or wrong ticker as a successful deploy.
Fix identity, network, and naming before choosing an entrance—this cuts clarification loops and mistaken deploys.
| Prep item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Wallet and gas | A wallet that can sign on Base (default) with native gas; the website path also needs a connected wallet |
| Social identity | Farcaster paths and Preclank saves depend on Farcaster login / casts |
| Name and ticker | Clear and hard to confuse; avoid colliding with famous brands or existing tickers |
| Optional image | Casts may attach an image / gif; the wizard can upload visuals too |
| Risk expectations | Fixed supply ≠ demand; locked LP ≠ immune to zero or impersonation |
Names and tickers are hard to “undo” once on-chain; vault, airdrop, and creator-buy choices belong in the wizard or Preclank stage. If you are comparing bonding-curve or agent stacks, start from Clanker vs other launchpads before picking an entrance.
Launching is not a return promise: creating a token is relatively simple, but building durable value takes much more planning; creator rewards come from later trading fees, and rules vary by launch version—so one historic split cannot describe every pool. Regulatory compliance should also be reviewed before launch.
The Farcaster path fits fast defaults for launching through social media via Farcaster: tag @clanker in a cast, state the token name and ticker, optionally attach an image, and optionally name a non-WETH quote token.
Following Deploying a Token and Farcaster Bot Deployments:
Draft the cast — Example: @clanker deploy a token named myNewToken with the ticker MINE; for a non-WETH quote, state the pair in the same cast (e.g., paired with CLANKER).
Optional vault — You may reserve supply in a creator vault; common max/default is about 30%; minimum lock is about 31 days, often defaulting to 31 days when unspecified.
Wait for the bot — Success: a token-page link / frame; unclear: clarifying questions on name, ticker, or deploy intent; blocked: a reason the launch cannot proceed.
On-chain result (Base by default) — Mint a non-mintable ERC-20; docs commonly use 100 billion total supply; non-vaulted supply enters a Uniswap v4 pool as single-sided liquidity (WETH quote by default) with a documented starting market-cap example of 10 WETH. That initial trading setup and early market behavior can shape how the token is perceived after launch. LP NFTs go to the Clanker LP Locker with no withdraw function.
Figure 1. Five Clanker launch steps: Prepare → Choose entry (Farcaster / Website / Preclank) → Deploy → Verify pool and vault → Trade / fees.
Farcaster bot docs state that this path uses recommended fee and liquidity settings and that creators receive about 80% of LP fees as creator rewards—tied to the Farcaster bot path and that doc version, not automatically to every website advanced config or every historical contract version. Token launchers like this can also be used through web interfaces, and CLANKER is commonly described as the central token in the system.
Other chains can be selected with trigger phrases (e.g., Arbitrum: arbitrum / garbitrum / arbitrugm; Monad testnet: monad / gmonad; phrases themselves are not case-sensitive). After switching, still verify the contract and pool on that chain’s explorer.
The website wizard fits visual configuration of vaults, airdrops, creator buys, and other fields before deploying from the page, with Clanker launched in November 2024 as a no-code, AI-driven token creator for token deployment.
Open the deploy flow described on clanker.world, connect a wallet, fill name, ticker, image, and reward-related fields, then confirm network and quote asset, making the process more accessible by surfacing configuration options before signing. Versus a bare cast, the wizard surfaces optional modules as a form, which lowers missed parameters—but every field still needs a pre-signature review. Where available, vesting-style settings can signal long-term commitment in a launch setup.
After a successful deploy, cross-check the contract, pool, and fee recipient on a block explorer and the Clanker token page—not only a front-end toast. Wizard and Farcaster share the same launch goal—fixed-supply ERC-20 + automated pool + LP lock—differing mainly in UX depth, not a wholly separate tokenomic model. In some launch designs, pre-trading auction mechanisms can improve initial price discovery and capture value before open trading, offering a better starting point for the market.
Preclank stores token parameters and a trigger phrase first, then wakes @clanker from a Farcaster cast—useful when configuration should happen once and publishing later.
Per Preclank Deployments:
Sign in to clanker.world with Farcaster — Without Farcaster login you cannot save or use a Preclank.
Configure on the create page — Connect a wallet; the default rewards recipient and vault beneficiary usually follow the connected wallet, which may differ from the Farcaster primary wallet that later triggers the cast.
Enable Preclank and set a trigger phrase — After saving, review entries under “Manage Preclanks.”
Trigger via cast — Include the exact phrase and tag @clanker; phrases are case-sensitive. On success, the bot replies with the token info page.
Docs note that Creator Buy (Dev Buy) may not yet be supported for Preclank (short-term roadmap). If an instant creator buy is required, use a direct wizard path that supports it instead of assuming Preclank already does.
Once a deploy reply appears, align the front-end display with on-chain state before promoting or trading.
| Check | Pass criteria |
|---|---|
| Network | Base (or the chain explicitly stated in the cast/wizard)—do not share addresses on the wrong L2/mainnet |
| Token contract | Matches the ERC-20 address on the Clanker token page and block explorer |
| Supply and minting | Total supply matches expectations; no further mint authority (docs default to non-mintable) |
| Pool and quote | Pool quote is WETH or the declared quote token; liquidity is present |
| LP lock | LP sits in a Clanker LP Locker–style contract without a normal withdraw path |
| Vault | If enabled, share and lock days match the declaration; beneficiary is correct |
| Fee recipient | Creator rewards / fee recipient points to the expected wallet, not a stranger address |
Spoofs often copy tickers, avatars, or near-identical domains. Verify any wallet or tool integration before trusting connected flows. Trust contract addresses reached from a successful bot reply or a trusted wizard hop—not from DMs, search ads, or unverified “one-click launch” pages. Locked LP only constrains liquidity withdrawal; it does not prove the contract is backdoor-free or that the team is who it claims.
Most failures come from identity, phrase casing, network, and address checks—not from “just paying more gas,” so communicate clearly with your community during and after launch to reduce confusion about the correct contract and chain.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix direction |
|---|---|---|
| Bot asks clarifying questions | Unclear name/ticker or deploy intent | Answer the questions; avoid a second vague cast |
| Cannot deploy | Account / risk or other limits | Read the stated reason; do not spam retries |
| Preclank does not fire | No Farcaster login, or phrase casing mismatch | Re-login and paste the saved phrase exactly |
| Wrong fee address | Connected wallet ≠ Farcaster primary wallet | Confirm rewards / vault beneficiary before deploy |
| Wrong chain view | Default Base, but querying another explorer | Use the network stated on the cast / token page |
| “Rug-proof” overread | Treating LP lock as zero risk | Separately weigh contracts, spoofs, thin liquidity, and demand |
Other cautions: never send seed phrases or private keys to stranger “support”; do not market testnet contracts as mainnet assets; fee and creator splits follow that launch’s contract version and path. On whether Clanker is “safe”: permanent LP lock narrows liquidity-pull exits, yet social launchpads stay noisy and spoof / attention risks remain independent—“safe” should mean mechanism constraints plus market outcomes, not a single label.
Launching with Clanker compresses to: prepare wallet, network, and naming—so users can focus on launch execution rather than manual contract setup—then choose Farcaster, the website wizard, or Preclank → deploy → verify contract, pool, vault, and fee addresses → then observe trading and creator fees. Farcaster bot defaults deliver fixed supply, optional vault, a WETH pool, and permanently locked LP; Preclank emphasizes Farcaster login and case-sensitive trigger phrases, and this lower-friction flow can support ecosystem growth on Base by reducing barriers for new projects.
LP lock and creator fee splits are mechanism design, not return guarantees. Before and after launch, cross-check on-chain addresses against official entrances so a spoof contract is never mistaken for a successful deploy.
Launches can happen through social platforms like Farcaster by tagging @clanker with a name and ticker (optional image or quote token), or through the web interface on clanker.world by connecting a wallet and deploying; alternatively save a Preclank config and cast the trigger phrase while tagging @clanker. The default path often creates an instantly tradable token with an automated pool, typically as a fixed-supply ERC-20 on Base that opens a WETH pool and permanently locks LP.
After a user tags @clanker, the bot deploys and returns a token-page link when the request is clear, asks clarifying questions when it is not, and explains why when deployment is blocked. The default flow mints a commonly documented ~100 billion non-mintable supply, optionally funds a vault, opens a WETH (or declared) pool, and locks LP NFTs in a locker with no withdraw. Farcaster bot docs also note ~80% of LP fees as creator rewards (path/version dependent). Clanker has generated over $50M in cumulative protocol fees across thousands of launches. As of October 2025, it had facilitated over 486,385 token holders.
Clanker is used as an AI-powered token launcher on Base and other EVM chains: it turns cast or form parameters into a tradable ERC-20 and liquidity pool, then allocates trading-related creator rewards under versioned rules. “Clanker crypto” in casual speech often mixes the launcher with the ecosystem token CLANKER (tokenbot); CLANKER itself is an ERC-20 launched in November 2024, and the launch flow operates the product and does not automatically grant CLANKER rights. As of October 2025, its current price was €13.09, market cap €13.03 million, and circulating supply 986,000 tokens. It surged 33% in 24 hours, hit an all-time high of €128.18 on October 26, 2025, generated over $50M in cumulative fees since launch, and supported over 486,385 token holders by October 2025—signs of growing popularity, strong trading volume, sustained volume, and clear utility.
Permanent LP lock reduces “pull the pool” style exits, so launches are often described as more constrained on liquidity withdrawal—but that is not rug-proof: contract bugs, spoof front ends, thin-pool distortion, and demand collapse can still occur. Safety checks should cover contract address, network, fee recipient, and entrance provenance—not only an “LP locked” badge.
Preclank saves a token config and trigger phrase on clanker.world after Farcaster sign-in, then deploys when a cast includes that exact phrase and tags @clanker. A direct cast fits fast defaults; Preclank fits configure-once, publish-later. Trigger phrases are case-sensitive; docs note creator buy may not yet be supported for Preclank.
