When should a once-profitable trading strategy be stopped?
A string of losses does not necessarily mean a strategy has failed, but past effectiveness does not mean it will continue to work in the future.
What really needs to be checked:
* Is the current drawdown beyond expectations?
* Has the market structure changed?
* Are fees and slippage eroding the strategy’s edge?
* Have parameter adjustments caused overfitting?
* Were rules for pausing and reviewing set in advance?
Don’t abandon a strategy after just a few losses, but don’t refuse to acknowledge change just because it was profitable in
