The hardware wallet Ledger launches offline recovery secret key for the new wallet.

Gate News bot news, according to CoinTelegraph, major hardware Crypto Assets Wallet provider Ledger has launched an offline Private Key recovery tool, helping users regain access to their encryption wallet without relying on cloud-based services or personal data.

The company stated in an announcement shared with Cointelegraph that the Ledger Recovery Key is an offline physical recovery tool that allows Ledger Flex or Ledger Stax users to store their Private Key on a smart card with NFC connectivity.

Unlike the key recovery product Ledger Recover released by Ledger previously, this product stores encrypted fragments of recovery phrases in a cloud-based hardware security module, while the Ledger Recovery Key remains offline and is protected by its own PIN.

The Ledger Recovery Key is also optional for Ledger Wallet users, but it does not require verification or collection of personal information, whereas Ledger Recover does.

The Ledger Recovery Key will specifically allow users to regain access to their assets by simply tapping the smart card and entering their PIN.

The company stated in the announcement that the Ledger Recovery Key exclusively supports NFC-connected Ledger Flex and Ledger Stax Wallets, allowing secure direct connections to Ledger devices via NFC wireless channels without intermediaries.
