Everyone says, “If an exchange promises to fully reimburse users, they’ll be fine.” Brazil’s largest exchange, Mercado Bitcoin, just put that claim to the test.
It was hacked on Nov 2. The exchange itself says $36.3 million was stolen, while blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis estimates the figure at $49 million.
