Mars Finance reports that Samsung Electronics is developing eight-layer seventh-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4E) in line with NVIDIA’s requirements. This significantly reduces the stack height compared with the originally planned 12-layer and 16-layer designs. NVIDIA’s requested speed specification is 17–18 Gbps, approximately 20% higher than the 14.4 Gbps sample speed of Samsung’s initial HBM4E. The product is reportedly intended for NVHBM. For me, $233.5 is the key invalidation. Stay below it and the bounce still looks like a relief move. If sellers step back in around $230–$231, another test of the lows could come quickly.
