Zcash community just made some major decisions for the upcoming NU7 upgrade.
Around 2.4 million ZEC took part in the vote, representing roughly two-thirds of the eligible total.
The results were overwhelmingly in favor of:
• Reducing block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, making transaction confirmations faster.
• Keeping the existing Bitcoin-style halving mechanism.
• Delaying the redistribution of Network Sustainability Mechanism fees to miners until at least February 2031.
• Disabling transactions that rely on the outdated Sprout privacy system.

The Fed really did hike rates: by 25 basis points, raising the target range to 3.75%–4.00%—the first hike since July 2023.
Interestingly, Bitcoin’s reaction—most people expected it to fall, but BTC instead surged. This kind of “rebound after the bearish news is realized” usually indicates that selling pressure was released in advance and the rate hike itself had been fully priced in.

After the Federal Reserve resumed raising rates, both gold and BTC came under pressure. On the surface, it looks like a broad retreat from risk assets, but in reality, it is still about the repricing of dollar liquidity.
The policy rate was raised to 3.75%–4.00%, while the dot plot showed that 16 of the 18 officials expected at least one more rate hike this year. This means the market cannot simply interpret it as a “one-off rate hike.”
Gold’s fundamentals also need to be reassessed. It is usually influenced jointly by real interest rat
