Attention everyone, hold off on shorting! In this U.S. midterm election, the Democrats won the House of Representatives, and overseas institutions interpret this as some of Trump’s power being checked. The market expects conflicts in the Middle East and Iran to ease, further calming the international situation and lifting sentiment. Asian markets collectively rebounded today, and China’s A-share market also surged in an independent rally; oil prices fell while gold rose, as funds traded on these expectations. As I’ve said, look for a rebound in November first, then choose the right time to sho

ZEC at $1,290: Are You Chasing the Upgrade or Someone Else’s Unrealized Gains?
ZEC surged from $1,124 to $1,290 in one day, up 12%. Yesterday you were still calling it a dinosaur; today, one green candle slapped you in the face—on the eve of the NU7 upgrade, dare you chase it?
Bro, don’t pretend.
Just a few days ago, you were saying in the group chat, “Privacy coins are dead; ZEC is an archaeological relic.”
And now? BTC is barely moving around $77,000, ETH is stuck around $2,300, while ZEC is rallying on its own, climbing from $1,124 to above $1,290 in 24 hours, reaching a market cap of $21-2

Strip out the stablecoin issuers and the picture still holds: it went from under $10M to over $120M
Which is more than 12x in the part driven by actual protocol activity w/o reserve yields.

What exactly are U.S. midterm elections? Dongye explains them in 3 minutes.
Although they don’t elect a president, midterms determine how much a president can get done in the next two years.
• Why are they called “midterms”?
• Where do the numbers 435 seats, 100 seats, 218, and 51 come from?
• Why are they often called a president’s “midterm exam”?
• Results of the 2026 midterm elections:
The Associated Press has called both chambers for the Democrats (as of 3:00 p.m. Beijing time on November 4)

Apple delivers its results: Earnings beat expectations, yet the stock fell. What went wrong?
Little God of Wealth will start with the conclusion: Apple’s real challenge is neither profit margins nor excessive AI investment, but slowing growth—and the reason for that slowdown is precisely too little AI investment. That sounds contradictory, but you’ll understand after reading these results.

Apple delivers its report: Results beat expectations, yet the stock falls. What went wrong?
Little财神’s conclusion first: Apple’s real challenge isn’t margins or excessive AI spending, but slowing growth—and the reason for that slowdown is precisely too little investment in AI. That may sound contradictory, but this earnings report will make it clear.
I. First, the results: an earnings report that beat expectations across the board
For the fiscal fourth quarter ended September 26:
Revenue was $114.477 billion, up 11.7% year over year, above the market’s estimate of $113.39 billion and even above the top end of the company’s own 9%–11% guidance. EPS was $2.10, up 14% year over year and above the expected $1.99. Net income was $30.711 billion, up 11.8%. Gross margin was 47.9%, above the expected 47.5%.
By business: iPhone revenue was $57.583 billion, up 17.46%, a September-quarter record; Mac revenue was $10.792 billion, up 23.68%; Services revenue was $31.573 billion, up 9.8%, an all-time high; Greater China revenue was $17.539 billion, up 21%.
For the full year, revenue was $478.834 billion, up 15.06%; net income was $132.175 billion, up 18%; and operating cash flow was $145.097 billion, up 30.15%—all records.
Taken on their own, these numbers make this an impeccable earnings report. So the question is: why did the stock fall 3% after hours?
II. The three real reasons for the drop
First, Services growth fell to 9.8%, its lowest level since 2022.
This is the most critical point. Apple’s valuation has long been based not on “selling hardware,” but on “hardware as an entry point + monetization through services.” Services has a gross margin of around 76% and is the profit engine. The 9.8% figure means that engine is slowing down.
More worrying, Services includes revenue from Google’s search engine licensing deal—a source of pure profit that is now threatened by antitrust litigation. In other words, the slowdown in Services growth may only just be getting started.
Second, Greater China was up 21%, but came in 6.5% below expectations.
Revenue was $17.539 billion, versus the market’s estimate of $18.75 billion. Growth was the highest among all regions, but still fell short of expectations. In a market where “beating expectations is the bare minimum,” “missing expectations” is bad news. Competition in China has not eased, and domestic flagships continue to squeeze Apple in the premium segment.
Third, some of the gross-margin beat was “one-off.”
The 47.9% figure did exceed expectations, but it was partly boosted by refunds of U.S. tariffs. And the CFO explicitly said on the earnings call that memory procurement prices will continue to rise.
New CEO Ternus also acknowledged that memory costs were higher than in the previous quarter, and that the company managed to offset them through price increases on some products, inventory cost advantages, and lower prices for other components. In other words, this quarter’s gross margin was “held up” by various measures; it may not hold up next quarter.
Two other details were overlooked: iPad revenue fell 10.4%, and wearables fell 7.9%. Aside from iPhone and Mac, every other hardware category posted negative growth.
So the stock fell not because the earnings report was bad, but because it “wasn’t good enough.”
III. Is the problem margins, AI investment, or slowing growth?
Slowing growth is the illness, insufficient AI investment is the cause, and margins are merely a symptom.
First, margins. The near-term pressure is real—rising memory prices are an industry-wide issue, not unique to Apple. But Apple can pass costs on: it can offset them with price increases, changes to its product mix (a higher Pro share), and supply-chain cost reductions. This quarter’s 47.9% gross margin is proof. Margins are manageable; they are not the core problem.
Next, AI investment. This is the most interesting part.
Apple’s capital expenditures this quarter were only $2.24 billion, versus the market’s estimate of $3.33 billion—far below those of other tech giants. For comparison, Meta spent $34.9 billion in one quarter, while Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are on track to spend nearly $600 billion combined in a year. Apple’s capital expenditures for the entire year are still less than Meta’s for one quarter.
While other companies are being punished by the market for “spending too much,” Apple has protected its margins by “spending too little.” That is both its moat and its vulnerability.
The moat is that very low capital expenditure delivers exceptionally strong free cash flow. Full-year operating cash flow of $145 billion gives Apple the means to buy back shares, pay dividends, and weather economic cycles.
The vulnerability is that in the AI era, access to computing power has to be built by pouring in money. Apple has chosen not to build its own large models or data centers, relying instead on partnerships (such as with Google’s Gemini) to make up for its AI capabilities. This approach saves money, but Apple doesn’t hold the reins. Siri’s repeatedly delayed new version is the price it pays.
So the real problem is slowing growth, and the root cause is that Apple has not found its next “Services-level” growth engine. iPhone relies on the upgrade cycle, Mac on M-series chips, and Services on its installed base—all three growth curves are mature. AI should have been the fourth, but it hasn’t arrived yet.
IV. Stock outlook
In the short term, I expect it to trade in a range of 320–350.
The stock closed at 338.32 before earnings and fell to around 327 after hours. On the downside, 330 is a round-number level, 320–325 is a previous consolidation zone, and 310 is strong support for this pullback. On the upside, 345 is the pre-earnings level, 350–351 is the late-October high, and moving above 360 would require a new catalyst.
In the medium term, it depends on two things.
First, the direction of memory prices. If memory price increases peak in the first quarter of next year, pressure on Apple’s gross margin will ease and its valuation can recover; if prices keep rising, margins will continue to be squeezed, and a 39x PE won’t hold.
Second, the pace of AI deployment. When will the new Siri be available? Can on-device AI drive upgrades? How far can the partnership with Google go? These will determine whether Apple can tell its “next story.”
My view: Apple won’t collapse, but it’s unlikely to surge either. Its current role is as a defensive asset in a volatile market—strong cash flow, big buybacks, and low volatility. The fact that it hit a new high while tech stocks plunged in October is an example of this dynamic. But expecting it to double like Nvidia is unrealistic.
V. Trading advice
First, don’t chase. If the stock opens higher after earnings, don’t chase it. The problem with this report is that it “wasn’t good enough,” not that it was “exceptionally good”—there’s no reason to chase.
Second, wait for a pullback to 320–325 and buy in stages. This is a previous consolidation zone and a psychological level. If it falls there and stabilizes on lower volume, I’d build a position in two batches, starting with 30%.
Third, 310 is the stop-loss level. If it breaks below 310, that means the market is repricing Apple (shifting from a “defensive asset” toward “stagnant growth”), so reduce your position rather than stubbornly holding on. $AAPL

Gold is showing a strong recovery after bouncing from the $3,880 support zone.
Price has reclaimed the 5-day and 10-day moving averages and is now testing the 20-day MA near $4,040.
The key level to watch is $4,080.
A clean breakout could open the door toward $4,150–$4,200.
If rejected, $3,980–$3,945 remains an important support zone.
Bullish momentum is building, but confirmation is still needed. 👀
