Apple opens AI technology, with some feature upgrades postponed to ensure quality.

Apple Inc. announced on Monday that it will open up the underlying technologies used for its smart devices. Apple’s software chief Craig Federighi stated that the company is making its foundational artificial intelligence models available to third-party developers for certain features used internally. When discussing the latency of improved features like Siri, Federighi mentioned, “This work needs more time to meet our high-quality standards.” Federighi also indicated that Apple plans to redesign all of its operating systems.
