In a recent post on X by Documenting Bitcoin, it is reportedly that Law enforcement officials and power company representatives carried out a raid in the Phanat Nikhom district, where they discovered nearly 1,000 mining machines connected to an illegally modified power meter.

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) collaborated with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) to investigate irregularities in power consumption. Officials found that the mining operation manipulated its power meter to avoid detection

During the day, the meter registered normal electricity usage, but at night, it was bypassed to mine Bitcoin at no cost. The method allowed the operation to avoid raising suspicion while running a high-energy mining facility.

During the raid, officials confiscated 996 Bitcoin mining machines and additional electronic equipment. The exact value of the seized hardware has not been disclosed.
