The official YouTube channel of Dota 2 was temporarily hacked on Wednesday, live streaming a promotion for the token "dota2coin" on Solana – identified as a scam. The video titled "Dota 2 Launch Official Meme Coin | Hurry Up" included a link to PumpFun, while the description redirected back to the official channel. According to Coinphoton, this token was created right after the hack, with one wallet holding over 98% of the supply and a market cap of only 5,500 USD, falling 21% from its launch. The r/DotA2 community quickly warned viewers not to engage. The incident also spread to the PGL channel, the organizer of the Dota 2 tournament, as it was hijacked to stream a fake video featuring CEO Michael Saylor promoting Bitcoin. This is part of a series of crypto scam attacks on YouTube that have been occurring since 2020, targeting both organizations and famous individuals.
