The ABSOLUTE worst day in ALL history to buy the Nasdaq $Q was March 27, 2000.
$117.75 a share. The very top of the dot com bubble.
By October 2002 it was $20.06. Down 82%.
It took about 15 years just to get back to even... & that's WITH dividends reinvested.
But if you bought that exact day & did nothing, today it's around $740. About 7x your money with dividends.
Now the person who bought in October 2002 at $20... that's about 37x on price alone.
Same fund. The only thing that changed was the price paid.
That's why I don't buy just because something is going up. I want great companies/ETFs t

BTC at 81k, ETH at 2,375; ETH's drop is more than three times BTC's
BTC fell just 0.44% over 24 hours, while ETH dropped 1.55%—a difference of more than 3x. This divergence is more worth watching than the absolute prices.
📊 First, a Gate spot snapshot (October 18, 15:47 UTC):
BTC was trading at 81,074.7 USDT, with a 24-hour high of 82,285.8, a low of 80,817, and a trading volume of about 380 million USDT.
ETH was trading at 2,375.76 USDT, with a 24-hour high of 2,430, a low of 2,356.97, and a trading volume of about 149 million USDT.
Both coins are down, but ETH has fallen nearly 2.2% from it

The U.S. complains that prices are too high, and Beijing turns around and changes the law to regulate prices that are “too low.” The State Council has approved a draft amendment to the Price Law aimed at curbing “disorderly low-price competition.” One side can’t get inflation under control, while the other complains that things are too cheap—I honestly don’t get it. Anyone who does, care to explain: who exactly is this protecting?

I’ve basically trained Xiao Yu up too. It took a full 3 months, starting from a complete beginner who knew nothing. Following the course, we covered blockchain fundamentals, then moved on to research and analysis, finding assets, practicing candlestick charts and making predictions, and finally started placing trades step by step.
At first, she lost money during practice and couldn’t keep her hands off the controls, making random trades. We corrected that step by step, and now she has her trading system in place. When we get to the office on Monday, I’ll go through the logic of her trading sys
Over 10,000 yuan a year! Guangxi’s social security contributions for flexible employment have risen again—should you still pay? 😮
Folks, the contribution base for flexible employment social security in Guangxi is 4204.8 yuan, which comes to 10091.52 yuan a year—quite a bit higher than last year. Honestly, seeing that number is bound to make anyone short on cash feel a jolt.
But let’s be honest: this isn’t consumption—it’s setting aside a warm meal for your future self. Employee health insurance provides a safety net, so you can go to the hospital when you get sick; once you’ve paid in for the

📊 Crypto Daily | Evening of Oct 18: $350 million liquidated in a single hour! BTC plunged to a low of 81,300, then bounced back—who is the market maker shaking out?

Guys, there's action in the market today: BTC dipped first, then rallied, hitting a low of 81,288 before V-shaped rebounding above 82,100 (+0.86% over 24h). A daytime liquidation storm wiped out longs, with about $350 million liquidated in a single hour. Then, in the evening, BTC climbed back above 82,000—the sharp drop and rebound looked just like a shakeout by market makers.

Market conditions:

$PLAY It's at 0.0145 now. I just cut my previous position at 0.0165, taking a 12% loss. Time anchor: 24 hours ago it was still at 0.0168; now it has plunged to a low of 0.0143, with a trading volume of 2.8M—that's not enough to support a rebound.
Looking back at my trades: The day before yesterday, I saw it moving sideways around 0.0158 on declining volume and thought selling pressure was easing, so I entered with a 30% position at 0.0159. But yesterday afternoon, it broke below 0.0150 on rising volume. I hesitated for half an hour instead of stopping out, thinking, “I'll wait a little longer

U.S. September PPI Far Exceeds Expectations: Will Fed Policy Expectations Be Reassessed?
The U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) heated up far more than expected in September, once again sounding the alarm on inflation. Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the final-demand PPI rose 1.3% month over month in September, its largest increase since March 2022, and was up 6.3% year over year. Gasoline prices surged, with energy costs becoming a key factor pushing up prices at the production level.
This data could change market expectations for the Fed’s next policy moves. If product

KOSPI +3.3%: A relief bounce or the start of a recovery?
My initial assessment: This appears to be a potential relief rally; however, a single strong session is not enough to confirm a broader recovery. The key question is whether semiconductor stocks can sustain this rebound following the sharp sell-off, or if the gains are merely driven by short covering and bargain hunting.
The gains seen in Samsung Electronics (+3.6%) and SK Hynix (+3.4%) are particularly significant, as the South Korean market is highly sensitive to semiconductor sentiment and the global AI-memory trade.

#美股存储板块跌幅扩大 Friday's session gave me a clear answer on how deep this storage selloff really is, so I rebuilt my sector notes from the numbers. Here is where I stand after the close on October 16.
The damage is big. Micron fell 5.63% on Friday and 14.6% on the week, while SanDisk dropped 6.85%, Western Digital about 7% and Seagate more than 7%, with the storage chip index down 17.6% on the week. SanDisk closed at $1,299.30, its seventh lower close between October 8 and October 16. Against its June high close of $2,335, that is about 44% lower by my math.
The bigger picture is even harsher. Six

The electricity card got played backwards. They used to use power cuts as leverage; now they’re signing contracts to buy electricity. When it comes to energy security, whoever has the power ultimately calls the shots. So what’s the takeaway? I haven’t figured it out yet either.

$ELSA Up 16% in a day, with just 15.3M in 24h trading volume—this isn’t major players entering; it’s a raid in a liquidity vacuum. The current price of 0.0683 is right at the 24h high, indicating that buying pressure hasn’t faded yet, but it also means everyone chasing the rally is already on board.
First, the macro backdrop. There’s no major data today, but after last week’s hawkish Fed minutes, the dollar index climbed above 105, and rising real interest rates are a headwind for high-risk assets. ELSA’s 16% rally against this backdrop was most likely not driven by macro factors, but by its t

US September PPI came in at 6.3% YoY, well above the 5.3% market expectation, pointing to renewed producer-side inflation pressure. Weekly jobless claims were 199K, broadly in line with forecasts. Could hotter inflation further reduce room for rate cuts, and what does it mean for $BTC, US stocks, and gold?
