According to CNBC, Nvidia released Nemotron 3.5 Lightning on Monday (August 11), marking the company’s first open-source AI model since CEO Jensen Huang joined the open-source AI debate in late July.
The model is designed to run on a single graphics processing unit, and enterprises can download, use, and modify it for free without obtaining a license or paying fees. In late July, Huang posted on X defending open-source AI models, and later co-founded an AI safety alliance with Microsoft.
