A few days ago I was still calculating whether this move was really doomed, but at market open this morning I found that the shorts had already written the answer on their faces. In my last look before sleeping, $ZEC was still probing back and forth at high levels, but every time it pushed up, it just lacked that last breath. As the price inched higher, the buy-side didn’t keep up, while the sell-side was clearly more active. What I’m seeing isn’t a prelude to a breakout—it’s someone above continuously taking profits.

While everyone else is still watching, ZEC has returned to around 529.74,

Bitcoin and Ethereum rose about 0.7% and 1.2%, respectively, over the past 24 hours, but set against the backdrop of the last three days (-1.66%) and the last seven days (-0.29%), the move is basically treading water. Bitcoin’s 7-day range is only 2.32%; today, the 24-hour range has been squeezed to 1.2%. Price is stuck around the 37% mark within the 7-day band—up and down without direction.
