October 19 Gold Morning Brief
Last Monday, gold consolidated on lower volume around 4170 while awaiting CPI; after U.S. September CPI came in at +3.7% year over year on Wednesday, prices plunged, touching a low of 4073; on Thursday, bulls staged a comeback, with gold rising 1.61% for the day to close at 4171; on Friday, after Fed Chair Warsh’s speech in Bangkok, gold surged to 4198 but failed to hold, then turned lower and closed around 4165. Gold fell 0.14% that day and 0.68% for the week, tracing a roller-coaster path of “falling first, then rising, then pulling back.”
At today’s open, gold

Don’t rush to chase.
Left: 03:00 a.m., 208.48
Right: four hours later, 223
Middle: now, 218.93
The same $MRNA , with just $77k traded in 24 hours
With liquidity this thin, even a slightly larger order can draw upper and lower wicks
Scenario one: hold above 220.22 and take out 223, and the weekend range will have finally broken to the upside
Scenario two: fall back below 216.94, and it’ll have to revisit that wick at 208.48
I’m not guessing which way it goes (those with no position are the freest)
Of the 14.52 points from 208.48 to 223, half were drawn by wicks
Whoever moves first is wrong; I’ll

$BAT I've been watching this for a week, and the more I look, the stranger it seems.
Up 9.8% in 7 days sounds pretty impressive, right? But look at the volume—it’s down to just 30% of normal. It’s rising, but nobody’s following. With trading volume under 34 million, where are the buyers?
Even crazier, it’s up 117% over 30 days and 122% over 90 days. I won’t say how the people who dumped it all the way down from 0.22 feel now. Either way, at 0.1756, this is halfway down from a high—not the floor.
I believe a rally on rising volume. A rally on falling volume just looks like nobody’s buying while

296.33. 310.77. Fourteen points apart.
10-18 05:00 wicked down to 296.33, closed at 300.72
10-19 03:00 closed at 300.23
04:00 tested 299.82 again, then recovered to 300.32
05:00 closed at 300.67
06:00 closed at 302.77
07:00 closed at 304.5
08:00 touched 310.77, then fell back to 306.55
The upper wick left by that one-hour candle was 4.22 points
And the entire market saw only $93k in trading volume over 24 hours
$SNOW This wick, I won't chase
Let's talk again if it gets back above 310.77; a break below 296.33 changes the script
(Not investment advice; trade at your own risk)

$Q's data looks off. Its 24-hour range exceeded 43%, plunging to a low of 0.0870 before rebounding above 0.11, while trading volume surged to 1.13 billion—price down 10% but volume exploding. This isn't ordinary shakeout.
Three possibilities: first, whales are wash trading to create panic and accumulate; that wick at 0.0870 is evidence. Second, a cascade of futures liquidations, with leveraged positions pushing the price through the floor in an instant. Third, someone knew something in advance and is selling, but buyers are equally aggressive.
The chart looks more like the first scenario to me
$HYPE
Down 12% and still languishing near the lower boundary. Price is falling while open interest is up 12.5%—shorts are piling in and clearly pressing the price down. 😤 Any rally here just hands profits to the shorts. I’m bearish; a break below 78.25 and it’ll plunge straight down. 👀

SOL is testing support after a rough pullback, and this zone could decide the next move.
$SOL ‌ has dropped from $124.99 to around $103.76, with sellers still controlling the daily structure. The Supertrend sits at $117.79, so bulls have work to do before the trend turns constructive again.
Key levels:
Support: $100–$103
Major support: $95–$97
Resistance: $107–$111
Trend reclaim: $117.80
Recovery targets: $120 → $125
Holding $100 could give buyers room to build a recovery. Lose that zone, and $95 becomes the next level to watch.
SOL is an important area, but a proper reclaim matters more tha

There’s a lot of tough talk about tariffs, but what happens in practice depends on how companies work around them. The U.S. imposes more tariffs, China retaliates—who gets hurt in the end? Those in the import-export business take the hit first. If you see it differently, explain why.

US September PPI came in at 6.3% YoY, well above the 5.3% market expectation, pointing to renewed producer-side inflation pressure. Weekly jobless claims were 199K, broadly in line with forecasts. Could hotter inflation further reduce room for rate cuts, and what does it mean for $BTC, US stocks, and gold?
