🐋 WHALE WATCH : $BTC broke out of its low range at the end of August but Open Interest didnt follow the price higher.
That divergence matters. Previous rallies saw BTC and OI climb together fueled by leverage chasing price. This time volume spiked at the breakout then tapered. OI moved up modestly.
Thats not a bearish signal. It means leveraged speculation hasnt piled in yet which reduces the risk of a sudden liquidation flush. The question now is whether BTC holds the reclaimed zone as volume normalizes. If it does the move has legs. If it fails theres no leverage cushion to slow the drop.
