#GateBTCAndETHFuturesVolumeRanksTop3 The White House Waives Multiple Sanctions on Russia, and the Short Trade Hits the Mark Again! BTC and ETH Outlook for 10.17
On the 16th, the White House issued an executive order waiving multiple sanctions, restrictions, and tariffs set out in the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026. The waiver covers measures including a 500% tariff on Russian goods exported to the U.S., as well as 100% tariffs on major importers of Russian energy and on countries that help Russia evade sanctions on its oil trade. It also covers sanctions targeting the Russian central bank, major commercial banks, state-owned enterprises, and government officials, along with restrictions on investment in Russia, energy trade, sovereign debt purchases, and related financial transactions. The act was signed into law on September 18 this year and originally called for multiple sanctions and tariff measures to be implemented within 30 days of taking effect. Trump has invoked the presidential waiver authority granted by the act to delay the relevant provisions, but has not repealed the act. Sanctions on Russia imposed under other laws and executive orders remain in effect. But prices still failed to rally and fell again tonight. The short orders we shared were filled precisely: the BTC short is currently up about 1,000 points, and the ETH short another 40 to 50 points. Join us and take profits!
Daily candles have been frequently switching between bullish and bearish, and current rebounds have been unable to hold above the middle band. The market is consolidating near the lower band, and without effective positive catalysts, it will likely test lower levels again! So the strategy of shorting rebounds remains unchanged! If you’re entering now, set a profit-protecting stop; if you missed the entry, keep looking to enter on a rebound!
10.17 Short Strategy:
Short BTC again on a rebound to 82500-83000. More cautious traders can enter at 83500-84000, with a stop around 85000. Targets are around 81500-81000; if that level breaks, look to 80500-80k. If it breaks lower still, move the stop to lock in profits as conditions warrant!
Short ETH again on a rebound to 2470-2500. More cautious traders can enter at 2530-2560, with a stop around 2600. Targets are around 2430-2400; if that level breaks, look to 2370-2350. If it breaks lower still, move the stop to lock in profits as conditions warrant!
With the midterm elections approaching, Trump has temporarily introduced multiple policies in an attempt to bring down high oil prices, but they have had little effect. If things continue this way, he will likely lose his crown. So be cautious about chasing rallies; stick with the strategy of shorting rebounds. Those with positions and patience can scale in over multiple entries and wait for the big gains!
