The August Nonfarm Payrolls report is out this morning and it is the most important data release we will get before the September FOMC meeting. After a summer of cooling inflation and mixed growth data, the labor market is now the main driver of policy expectations, market direction, and business planning.
Consensus heading into the print is 145,000 to 160,000 new jobs. Unemployment is expected to hold near 4.2 percent to 4.3 percent. Average hourly earnings are forecast at 0.3 percent month over month and 3.6 percent year over year. If we get n
