step by step and we shall achieve

Recently, a series of thefts have occurred across the industry. Every security incident affects not just one company, but everyone’s trust in the crypto industry.

It also reminds me of why we started working on Proof of Reserves (PoR) in 2020. The idea was simple: if users entrust their assets to an exchange for safekeeping, they have the right to know whether those assets are fully backed. Trust isn’t about believing promises; it requires verifiable evidence.

Over time, PoR was adopted by more and more exchanges and became a very important part of the industry’s security framework.

When change happens, it can look like just an experiment. Only in hindsight do we realize that it has gradually become an industry consensus.

Over the past few years, we have consistently made platform security and user funds our top priorities, continually optimizing and improving our exchange security measures. But these recent incidents have made me realize that Proof of Reserves alone is not enough for an exchange.

PoR can tell users whether an exchange has sufficient asset reserves, but it doesn’t answer another equally important question: how exactly are those assets stored? No exchange can promise that it faces no risk of theft, but how much of its assets are in cold wallets and how much in hot wallets? In the worst-case scenario, would the assets in cold storage still be enough to cover user assets? This information can be disclosed to users transparently; the industry just doesn’t yet have a public, unified measurement standard.

So today, Gate launched Proof of Security (PoSEC). With PoSEC, users no longer have to simply take an exchange’s word that “assets are safe.” They can directly view the cold storage coverage ratio, calculation methodology, and asset storage structure, with the relevant data verified through a third-party audit.

PoSEC introduces a straightforward metric: the cold storage coverage ratio. As long as this figure is at least 100%, it means that even if the assets in an exchange’s hot wallets were wiped out, the assets in cold storage would still be sufficient to cover all user assets.

Gate’s latest PoSEC cold storage coverage ratio is 104.58%.

Here, cold storage includes not only on-chain crypto assets, but also traditional off-chain assets involved in the platform’s business. For on-chain digital assets counted as cold storage, private keys are kept offline, asset transfers require multiple signatures, and transaction details are independently verified before signing. Traditional assets such as stocks and U.S. Treasuries are held by independent custodians and transferred and managed according to established authorization procedures. We are working with an independent third-party audit firm, and the report will be published on our official website once the audit is complete. We will also share more details over time.

Cold storage is important because keeping private keys offline can greatly reduce the risk of on-chain assets being exposed to online attacks. The higher the cold storage coverage ratio, the greater the safety buffer for user assets in extreme situations. This is increasingly drawing attention from regulators. Recently, South Korean regulators have also been discussing raising the required proportion of exchange assets held in cold wallets.

When Proof of Reserves went live in 2020, I had no idea how far it would go.

This time, we also hope PoSEC will become more than just a security measure at Gate and can become an industry consensus. If more platforms are willing to disclose their hot and cold wallet structures and let users verify how their assets are protected, users will have a genuine standard for comparison, and the industry’s overall security threshold will rise.

True trust should be built on public, transparent, and verifiable data.

PoSEC’s calculation methodology and cold storage standards are now public. We welcome our peers to refer to them, and all users to scrutinize them.

BITCOIN: THE MARKET'S BIGGEST BUYER MAY NOT BE THE STRONGEST HAND.

Institutional inflows can push BTC higher, but inflows alone don't prove long-term conviction.

The real test is what happens when volatility returns.

Do institutions keep accumulating through drawdowns, or does demand disappear when momentum fades?

My thesis: Sustainable Bitcoin strength is measured not only by how much capital enters, but by how long that capital stays.

💬 Are institutional investors strengthening Bitcoin's foundation or increasing its dependence on large capital flows?

BITCOIN: THE COST OF EXCESSIVE LEVERAGE

Bitcoin's November 6 sell-off triggered approximately $1.25 billion in crypto liquidations, with nearly 89% coming from long positions.

But the deeper story isn't the price decline.

It's the removal of leveraged demand.

When highly leveraged longs are liquidated, forced selling accelerates downside volatility. Open interest, funding rates and spot demand then become critical indicators of whether the market is stabilizing or simply preparing for another move.

My thesis: A liquidation flush can clean up market positioning, but it cannot create sustai
BITCOIN: WHO IS REALLY IN CONTROL — OLD MONEY OR NEW MONEY?

Bitcoin's market structure reveals an interesting tension.

Recent buyers have an average cost basis near $75,854, while long-term holders sit around $48,891.

That gap matters.

Newer investors are much closer to their entry price and potentially more sensitive to volatility. Long-term holders have a significantly larger unrealized cushion.

The key question isn't just who is buying BTC. It's who is willing to sell when pressure builds.

That is where market structure becomes interesting.

SUI: A LIQUIDITY DIVERGENCE WORTH WATCHING

The latest Sui data presents an interesting market structure.

As of November 3, 2026:

- DeFi TVL: $452.46M, down 1.67% in 24 hours.
- Stablecoin market cap: $461.21M, up 7.32% over 7 days.
- DEX volume: $20.07M in 24 hours, with weekly volume up 7.52%.
- Perpetuals volume: $9.09M in 24 hours, up 21.55% over 7 days.

Source: DeFiLlama.

What does this divergence suggest?

1. Stablecoin expansion isn't automatically DeFi expansion.

Stablecoin supply is growing while TVL is declining. This raises a question: is capital waiting on the sidelines, circu

SUI DEFI: IS LIQUIDITY TOO CONCENTRATED?

Sui's DeFi ecosystem has a structural question worth examining: how much of its capital depends on a small number of lending protocols?

According to DeFiLlama's November 1 snapshot:

- Total DeFi TVL: $458.68M
- Suilend TVL: $145.2M
- NAVI TVL: $139.71M
- Combined share of those two lenders: approximately 62% of Sui's TVL

This concentration deserves attention.

Why?

1. Protocol risk: A major exploit or withdrawal shock at either lender could affect confidence across the ecosystem.

2. Liquidity contagion: Stress in lending markets can trigger collat

SUI LIQUIDITY: THE HIDDEN RISK BEHIND ECOSYSTEM GROWTH

A blockchain can attract billions in capital and still have fragile liquidity.

The real question isn't simply how much TVL Sui has. It's how efficiently that liquidity is distributed and deployed.

Consider three structural issues:

1. Liquidity concentration

If a large share of Sui's DeFi liquidity sits in a handful of protocols, the ecosystem becomes vulnerable to protocol-specific shocks.

2. Capital efficiency

TVL measures deposited assets, not necessarily productive capital. We need to examine lending utilization, DEX depth, borro

⛽ SUI NETWORK: LOW FEES, BUT IS THAT ENOUGH?

One of Sui's biggest selling points is its ability to support fast transactions with low fees.

But here's a question worth asking:

Are low transaction fees enough to make a blockchain successful?

For me, three things matter:

🔹 Real users: Are people actively using the network?

🔹 Transaction activity: Are transactions growing consistently?

🔹 Developer adoption: Are builders creating useful applications?

Low fees can attract users, but long-term success depends on real demand and sustainable activity.

💵 SUI NETWORK: WHY STABLECOIN LIQUIDITY MATTERS

When analyzing a blockchain, don't look at its native token alone. Look at the stablecoins circulating in its ecosystem.

Stablecoins such as USDC provide liquidity for trading, lending, borrowing, and DeFi applications.

📊 According to DeFiLlama, Sui's stablecoin market capitalization was approximately $429.24 million on October 30, 2026.

Why should SUI investors care?

🔹 More stablecoin liquidity can support DeFi activity.
🔹 Traders need liquidity to swap assets efficiently.
🔹 Lending protocols need capital to serve borrowers.
🔹 Growing

💧 SUI LIQUIDITY: IS CAPITAL LEAVING THE ECOSYSTEM?

One important metric every SUI investor should watch is liquidity.

According to DeFiLlama, Sui's DeFi Total Value Locked (TVL) stood at approximately $460.98 million on October 30, 2026, down 4.69% over 24 hours.

Why does this matter?

🔹 TVL: Measures assets deposited in Sui DeFi protocols.

🔹 Stablecoin supply: Shows how much stablecoin capital is available in the ecosystem.

🔹 DEX volume: Helps us understand actual trading activity.

🔹 Capital flows: Can indicate whether money is entering or leaving the ecosystem.

📉 BITCOIN BELOW $80,000: PANIC OR OPPORTUNITY?

Bitcoin is facing fresh selling pressure, with reports putting BTC below the $80,000 level today. The big question is: what happens next?

🔍 Here’s what smart traders should watch:

🔹 Support: Can buyers defend the recent lows?
🔹 Resistance: Can BTC reclaim $80,000 and hold above it?
🔹 Volume: Is selling pressure getting stronger or fading?
🔹 Risk management: Avoid chasing a move just because the market is moving fast.

🟠 BITCOIN DEFI: OPPORTUNITY OR HIDDEN RISK?

Bitcoin is no longer just about buying low and selling high. DeFi is exploring ways to use BTC as collateral for borrowing and other financial activities.

But here's the catch 👇

⚠️ Smart-contract failures can cause losses.
⚠️ Liquidation can happen when collateral value drops.
⚠️ Not every project is trustworthy.

My take: Before chasing returns, understand how the protocol works, where your Bitcoin is held, and what could make you lose it.

💬 Question: Would you use your BTC in DeFi to earn or borrow, or would you keep it safely untouched?

BITCOIN IS EVOLVING: WHAT IF YOUR BTC COULD DO MORE? 🟠🚀

Bitcoin DeFi is a narrative worth watching.

For years, many investors have held Bitcoin mainly because they believe its value will grow over time. But a new wave of infrastructure is exploring how BTC can also be used as collateral in decentralized finance (DeFi).

🔥 Here's what's interesting:

Sui announced that its Hashi Bitcoin-finance infrastructure would begin a phased mainnet rollout in October 2026, with more than $500 million in committed capital reported at announcement. The project aims to support Bitcoin-backed lending, bo

🚨 SUI TOKEN UNLOCK ALERT: WHAT SHOULD INVESTORS WATCH? 🔵📊

A token unlock is one event crypto investors shouldn't ignore.

According to CoinGecko, 13.15 million SUI tokens are scheduled to unlock on November 1, 2026, representing approximately 0.13% of SUI's maximum supply.

🔍 Why does this matter?

💧 Supply: More tokens may become available to their recipients.

📉 Potential selling pressure: If recipients sell, the additional supply could weigh on price.

📈 But here's the catch: An unlock does NOT automatically mean a price dump. Recipients may hold, stake, or use their tokens instead.

🚨 CRYPTO WATCH: IS DEFI ENTERING A NEW PHASE? 🔥

The next big opportunity in crypto may not come from hype, but from real utility.

👀 Three things I'm watching:

🔹 Bitcoin DeFi: New ways to use BTC in financial applications.
🔹 Sui ecosystem: Growth in blockchain applications and lending.
🔹 Risk management: Security, adoption, and token economics matter more than headlines.

📊 My takeaway: A promising narrative is only the beginning. Real usage is what deserves attention.

🚨 SUI'S NEXT BIG TEST: CAN BITCOIN BECOME COLLATERAL FOR ON-CHAIN LENDING? ₿🔵

Most people think of Bitcoin as an asset to hold. But what if holders could put their BTC to work in lending markets without moving the underlying Bitcoin off its own network?

👀 Meet Hashi — Sui's Bitcoin-finance initiative.

🔹 The idea: Enable Bitcoin-backed lending while keeping BTC on the Bitcoin network.

🔹 The capital signal: The project announced more than $500 million in capital commitments from industry partners.

🚨 SUI UPDATE: COULD EVERYDAY PAYMENTS BE A BIG USE CASE FOR BLOCKCHAIN? 🔵

Crypto adoption isn't only about trading tokens. One of the biggest questions is whether blockchain can make everyday payments easier.

📱 Why Sui is worth watching

Sui announced a collaboration with Samsung to bring USDC on Sui to Samsung Wallet for eligible U.S. Galaxy users.

💡 Why this matters:
🔹 Stablecoins can make digital-dollar transfers possible on blockchain.
🔹 Wallet integrations could make crypto easier to access.
🔹 Real adoption depends on usability, security, and sustained demand.
