I got tired of waiting for gta 6, so i built my own
After watching CyberLeaks' leaked GTA 6 development footage, I started wondering how much of the actual game we could reconstruct using all the information already available online.
So we started digging.
We went through the leaked videos, scraped publicly available information, and studied every detail we could find.
Character movements, animations, driving physics, map layouts, buildings, environments, camera angles, and gameplay mechanics.
Our goal was simple: recreate everything as closely to the original footage as possible.
That's how G
i wish more devs shared their abandoned side projects
not every experiment has to turn into a startup. sometimes the lesson is more interesting than the product
been thinking about building something small this weekend and sharing the whole process
the messy commits, failed ideas, ugly first version and all of it
the best developer tool is usually the one that gets out of your way
half the time i just want a terminal, an editor and no notifications
building with ai is fun until the generated code passes every happy-path test and then immediately falls apart on one weird user input
i love how open source works
someone halfway across the world can fix a bug in a project you use every day and you might never even know their name
every time i clean up an old project i find at least one function that makes me wonder what was going through my head when i wrote it
i keep thinking about how many useful little apps never get built because the developer thinks the idea is too small
small problems are still worth solving
the older i get the more i appreciate boring software
fast startup, no weird subscriptions, does exactly what it says and doesn't randomly redesign everything
there's a certain kind of peace that comes from opening your editor, putting your phone away and just writing code for a few hours
i'm convinced the fastest way to learn a new framework is to build something stupid with it and then spend the next 3 days figuring out why it broke
working on a few ideas involving AI, automation and developer tools
want to start sharing more of the actual development process here instead of only posting finished stuff
open source is probably the best thing that ever happened to software development
some random developer on the other side of the planet can build something that completely changes how you work
i've been spending more time understanding how AI agents actually execute tasks instead of just generating responses
the gap between a cool demo and something reliable is massive
half of software engineering is writing code
the other half is figuring out why the code you wrote yesterday makes absolutely no sense
there's something genuinely addictive about turning a random idea you had at 2am into an actual working application
i think we're entering an era where a single developer can build products that would've required an entire team a few years ago
still trying to wrap my head around that
unpopular opinion but building your own tools teaches you more than watching 100 hours of coding tutorials
the best feeling as a developer is when something you've been working on for days finally works and you just sit there staring at it
been experimenting with local AI models lately
honestly the progress is getting ridiculous. stuff that needed expensive cloud infrastructure a year ago can now run on consumer hardware
