The fisherman is the one doing the casting, while we are the little fish.
Whether they catch a little or a lot, there will still be fish in the basket; but we are the kind of fish that has been hooked and can either eat and leave, or else must live a long time in their fishing pond—survive without getting hooked and then finish everything only after we mature. Even if you become mature, it doesn’t mean you have the right to act on your own whims.
