The U.S. President-elect Trump is preparing to fulfill a long list of campaign promises. One of the promises made by the President-elect is to ensure that all remaining bitcoins are "Made in America," which may be one of the most challenging promises to fulfill.
In June, Trump met with a group of cryptocurrency mining executives at his Sea Lake Manor and made this commitment on his Truth Social account. The large high-tech data centers of these companies are responsible for facilitating transactions on the blockchain in exchange for payment in bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
This gathering is a crucial moment for Trump's transformation from a skeptic of cryptocurrency to one of the industry's most powerful allies. "This is Trumpian rhetoric, but it's definitely not reality," said Ethan Vera, chief operating officer of Seattle-based Lukso Technology, which provides software and services to miners.
