Setting a stop-loss does not mean you will definitely exit at the expected price.

The nonfarm payrolls report is coming out this week. The longer you stare at the charts, the easier it is to start seeing what you want to see: whichever side your position is on, your eyes automatically filter out the signals pointing the other way. So I’ll treat Friday’s split price action as a signal at most, not a conclusion. The divergence across indexes, sectors, and relative strength shows that the market hasn’t reached a consensus yet—but we still need confirmation. I’m not going to guess what that confirmation will be in advance. I’ll wait for the data to speak for itself.

Many trading strategies look excellent: an 80% win rate, multiple consecutive wins, and a very attractive backtest curve.

But if each win earns just $10 while a single loss costs $50, a problem emerges.
