Is Bitcoin no longer digital gold? BTC plunges when U.S. stocks fall—how reliable is its supposed safe-haven status?

Bitcoin has long been called digital gold by many investors, but the market’s recent performance has made that label somewhat awkward.
When global risk assets face a sell-off, BTC and ETH struggle to stay out of the storm. Investors had hoped Bitcoin could serve as a safe haven, but sometimes it looks more like a cousin of risk assets: when markets get nervous, everyone heads for the exit together.
This doesn’t mean Bitcoin has lost its long-term value; it’s a reminder that safe-haven assets and high-growth assets are not the same thing.
Gold is typically influenced by real interest rates, central bank demand, and safe-haven flows; Bitcoin is also affected by liquidity, leverage, institutional capital, and market sentiment.
My view is that we shouldn’t treat BTC as a substitute for gold based solely on the digital gold label. If institutional allocations continue to increase in the future, Bitcoin’s market standing may rise further, but short-term volatility should not be overlooked.
In a nutshell: digital gold may be a thing, but don’t get your hopes up about a digital safe!#加密市场承压
