#GateSecurityGuard #GateSquare Protect Your Account Before the Next Market Move

Why this matters right now

Volatile markets bring more than price swings. They bring more phishing pages, fake support accounts and login attempts from unfamiliar devices. Most account takeovers do not start with a sophisticated hack. They start with a password reused elsewhere, a verification code shared in a rush, or a link clicked in a message that looked urgent. Gate Security Guard adds a layer of protection for eligible users, so it is worth setting up while your account is calm.

What Gate Security Guard does

Gate Security Guard is an optional, free protection service for eligible users. Once active, it adds an extra safeguard to your account on top of your existing password and login checks. It does not replace good habits, and it does not make your account immune to every threat. It makes takeover harder and gives you a clearer path if something goes wrong.

Who can activate it

You need to meet three conditions:

- An account security score of at least 80.
- Completed KYC 2 identity verification.
- Completed the relevant security verifications.

If you are not there yet, raise your security score and finish identity verification first, then return to the activation step.

How to activate

Open the Gate app, go to Profile, select Security Center, then choose Gate Security Guard. The official activation page and the full step-by-step guide are linked in Gate's announcement.

The 30-day rule

Activation is only the start. After you activate, your security score must stay at or above the qualifying level for 30 consecutive days. Protection takes effect once the requirements are met, so check your score regularly. If it drops below the threshold, the protection may not apply until you restore it.

Compensation for unauthorized transfers

Eligible users can apply for compensation for losses from unauthorized asset transfers. The exact rules, claim process and limits are set out in Gate's official terms. Read those before you rely on this feature, because compensation depends on meeting the conditions.

A short security checklist

- Use an authenticator app for two-factor authentication, not only SMS.
- Use a unique password that you do not use on any other site.
- Never share verification codes, API keys or passwords, including with anyone claiming to be support staff.
- Type the Gate address yourself or use the official app. Do not follow login links in unexpected messages.
- Review your login history and device list, and remove any device you do not recognize.
- Use withdrawal address whitelists where they are available, and double-check any new address before sending funds.

Warning signs to take seriously

Treat as suspicious any unexpected password reset or verification email, any message that pressures you to "confirm" your account within minutes, any request to share your screen during a support conversation, and any offer that promises fast profits in exchange for a deposit or transfer. Gate staff will not ask for your password or verification codes.

Bottom line
Trading analysis only helps if you can still access your account. If you qualify, activate Gate Security Guard, keep your security score above the threshold for 30 days, and follow the basic habits above. Protection is most valuable before a problem appears.
