#Gate上线台股交易 Gate Taiwan stocks are live. Here is what the data says about the AI supply chain.
Gate has added Taiwan stocks to its platform, starting with 19 TWSE-listed names, including TSMC, MediaTek, Hon Hai and Quanta. Users can trade them from a single Gate stock account, settle in USDT without converting to New Taiwan dollars, and see prices, holdings and profit and loss in TWD. Trading runs 09:00 to 13:25 Beijing time with no midday break. Check the Gate page for the full list and the exact session rules before placing orders.
What the market looked like on launch week
The timing matters. On 3 November 2026, the Taiwan market fell hard. The TAIEX dropped 1,612.60 points, or 3.59%, to close at 43,307.54. That was the seventh-largest point drop in the index's history. Turnover reached about NT$928 billion. The index had opened at its own level, then touched a session low near 43,192 before closing, and it lost the 44,000 level.
The AI heavyweights were among the weakest:
- TSMC (2330): NT$2,295, down NT$35 or 1.5%
- MediaTek (2454): NT$3,675, down NT$295 or 7.43%
- Delta Electronics (2308): NT$1,270, down NT$85 or 6.27%
- Hon Hai (2317): NT$245.5, down NT$5.5 or 2.19%
- ASE Technology (3711): NT$616, down NT$558 or 8.61%
Those are the closing figures reported for that session. Prices quoted in TWD change throughout the day, so check the live quote before you trade.
The bigger picture
Taiwan's market has been strong this year. On the first trading day of 2026, the TAIEX closed at a record 29,349.81, with TSMC setting a record close at NT$1,585. The index is now far above that level, but the 3 November drop shows how quickly sentiment can change even in a strong trend. A rally that depends on a few AI names can reverse sharply when those names weaken.
TSMC remains the largest weight in Taiwan's market. Its reported Q1 2026 net income was about NT$572.8 billion, and it is the main supplier of advanced chips for the AI build-out. MediaTek is a different kind of exposure. It is a fabless chip designer, so its results depend more on smartphone, edge-AI and networking demand than on TSMC's manufacturing capacity. Hon Hai and Quanta are assemblers and server makers, so their margins depend on production volume, component costs and customer orders.
Three things to think about before trading
1. Currency: Trading in USDT means your return also depends on the TWD/USD exchange rate. A stronger dollar can reduce your return even when the stock rises in local terms.
2. Session hours: A session that ends at 13:25 with no midday break gives you a shorter window than the local cash market. News released after the close, including US tech earnings or chip-export headlines, will hit the next session in Taiwan.
3. Concentration: The AI names move together. Owning TSMC, MediaTek and Hon Hai does not give you three separate bets. On 3 November, all three fell on the same day.
Your view matters
Which name do you think has the strongest long-term position in the AI build-out: the foundry leader, the chip designer, or the assembler? Share your watchlist, your view on the 3 November drop, or the levels you are watching. Good analysis gets seen on Gate Square.
Stock trading carries risk, including loss of capital. Prices in Taiwan can move sharply in a single session. This post is market education, not investment advice.
