#VidaPlans20MChinaStockDipBuy
Big money is buying the dip, but that doesn't mean the market has found its bottom.

Vida, founder of Equation, is making a bold move in Chinese equities with a planned investment budget of approximately $20 million. He has already started building positions in Zhongji Innolight, CQQQ and Tencent Holdings, while keeping additional capital ready if the market continues to decline.

What makes this move interesting is the scale of the recent correction. The ChiNext Index has reportedly dropped around 44% over four months, putting pressure on investors and creating opportunities for those with a longer investment horizon.

There is a bigger story behind these purchases. Zhongji Innolight has exposure to AI infrastructure and optical communication, Tencent represents China's established technology ecosystem, while CQQQ provides broader exposure to Chinese technology companies.

However, buying quality companies during a correction still carries risk. Valuations can fall further, economic uncertainty can remain, and a large investor's strategy may not match the risk tolerance of smaller investors.

My approach would be gradual accumulation rather than chasing a falling market. Keep cash available, identify important support zones, watch for selling pressure to weaken, and wait for confirmation before increasing exposure.

The real opportunity is not simply buying when everyone is fearful. It is knowing what to buy, how much to risk, and when to add more.

A 44% drop looks tempting, but think about the Chinese stocks sell-off in 2022: after being cut in half, they could get cut in half again.

I agree most with the last sentence: people who can figure out what to buy, how much to buy, and when to add to their positions are one in a hundred.

I’ve been following InnoLight for a long time. The 800G optical module story is still intact, but valuation compression is merciless.

Wait for volume to contract and support to be confirmed before adding to your position—that’s exactly right. Anyone rushing to go all-in now is gambling with their life.

What does it mean to have NVDA, MU, and AMZN tacked on at the end? Is it implying that a rebound in Chinese stocks depends on the mood of U.S. AI stocks? That logic is a bit convoluted.

CQQQ's liquidity is mediocre. Large funds could easily become the market maker themselves, and getting out may not be so easy.

Tencent has really fallen to an attractive valuation, with its PE almost on par with utilities, but policy risk is impossible to quantify.
