#ShareWeekly A Faster Network, but a Difficult Week for SOL: What the Chart Revealed
⚡ The Week Solana Became Faster, While Its Token Moved Lower
Solana delivered an important technological milestone, but SOL holders experienced a very different story in the market.
My weekly review shows a clear contrast: the network is progressing toward faster settlement and stronger infrastructure, while the token is still struggling to recover its short-term momentum.
At my current reference price of $95.48, SOL is trading approximately 5.42% below its October 26 closing price of $100.95. This week was a reminder that network development and token price performance do not always move together.
📊 Seven Days Through the Numbers
Here is how the market developed between October 26 and November 1:
• October 26 close: $100.95
• October 27 close: $101.34
• October 28 close: $102.44
• October 29 close: $95.63
• October 30 close: $96.31
• October 31 close: $95.43
• November 1 reference price: $95.48
Weekly high: $103.86
Weekly low: $92.34
Current reference price: $95.48
SOL climbed from its October 26 closing level to a weekly peak of $103.86, representing an intraperiod rise of approximately 2.88%. But the subsequent sell-off erased those gains.
From the weekly high to the weekly low, the price dropped approximately 11.1%. The recovery from $92.34 to $95.48 is around 3.4%, but that bounce alone does not confirm a trend reversal.
🔴 October 29: The Session That Changed the Weekly Picture
The most important session was October 29.
SOL opened around $102.42, reached a high near $103.18 and fell to approximately $94.92 before closing at $95.63.
That was a daily decline of roughly 6.65%.
The session also recorded approximately 5.27 million SOL in trading volume on the historical data snapshot, significantly higher than the previous day's 2.74 million.
For me, this is an important technical signal: the decline came with increased trading activity, suggesting stronger participation during the sell-off. It does not independently prove institutional distribution, but it makes the rejection worth watching.
📉 Technical Structure: Buyers Need to Rebuild Momentum
The October 26 technical snapshot showed daily RSI around 36.3, already below the neutral 50 level. The 20-day EMA was approximately $106.12, the 50-day EMA around $105.99 and the 200-day EMA near $98.58.
At $95.48, SOL is below all three of those reference averages.
That creates a weak short-term structure. The 20-day and 50-day averages are also close together, creating a resistance area around $106.
I would not call the market oversold simply because RSI is below 40. A weak RSI can remain weak during a continuing downtrend. What matters next is whether momentum starts improving alongside price and volume.
🟢 Bullish Scenario: What Would Change My View?
The first recovery area I am watching is $98.50–$100.00. This zone matters because it sits around the previous 200-day EMA reference and nearby psychological price levels.
A sustained move above $100, followed by a stronger daily close, would be an early improvement.
Above that, $102.40–$103.90 is the next important resistance zone, based on this week's price action.
If buyers reclaim the weekly high with convincing volume, the recovery case becomes stronger. Until then, a bounce should be treated as a possible relief move rather than confirmed bullish momentum.
🔻 Bearish Scenario: Where Could Selling Pressure Return?
The first major support reference is the weekly low near $92.34.
If SOL breaks below that level and fails to reclaim it, the bearish structure could extend. I would then watch the $90 area as the next psychological downside reference, rather than assume that the market must reverse at the weekly low.
A move below support accompanied by rising selling volume would be more concerning than a brief intraday wick.
Alpenglow: Solana's Biggest Fundamental Development This Week
Price weakness does not erase what happened at the network level.
Solana's Alpenglow consensus upgrade activated on mainnet on October 21, targeting approximately **150 milliseconds of finality**, compared with roughly 12.8 seconds under the previous TowerBFT consensus.
The Votor protocol changes how validators agree on finalized blocks, using direct voting and aggregated certificates. This is a major infrastructure improvement for applications that need faster transaction settlement.
One important detail: the 150ms figure is the target finality time, not the block-production interval. The separate Rotor data-propagation upgrade is planned for a later release.
Faster finality could make Solana more attractive for demanding applications, including tokenized financial assets. But adoption, liquidity, reliability and developer activity will determine how much economic value this improvement ultimately creates.
🧩 Firedancer and the Next Infrastructure Test
Validator-client diversity is another important development. The October 22 Solana engineering changelog listed Firedancer Mainnet v26.10.4 among the available releases.
A stronger validator-client ecosystem can improve resilience and reduce dependence on one implementation. However, Firedancer's availability should not be confused with being part of the initial Alpenglow migration: Solana's migration documentation specified Agave-based clients for that transition.
The long-term question is whether these infrastructure improvements translate into a healthier, more resilient network and greater real usage.
🎯 My Weekly Verdict: Development Is Bullish, Price Structure Is Not Yet Confirmed
I see two different signals in Solana right now.
Fundamentally, Alpenglow is a major step forward. Faster finality, continued validator-client development and the possibility of new financial applications strengthen the long-term technology story.
Technically, however, SOL remains below its key moving-average references, RSI has been weak, and the weekly sell-off erased the earlier recovery.
My next-week watchlist is simple: $92.34 support, $98.50–$100 recovery, and $103.86 as the weekly breakout reference.
I would become more constructive only after buyers demonstrate strength above resistance. If support fails, I would avoid assuming that strong network news can immediately reverse market selling.
A faster blockchain is a powerful achievement. But the chart still has to prove that buyers are ready to return.
