My positions for the weekend
Current technical data indicates that Bitcoin is under short-term selling pressure, with daily and weekly signals currently in conflict. I advise against chasing a recovery move until resistance levels are reclaimed.
Support 1 $76,200–$76,600 Initial support level
Support 2 $74,900–$75,200 Secondary support level
Support 3 $71,900–$73,700 Deeper decline zone
Resistance 1 $78,200–$78,600 First hurdle for a recovery
Resistance 2 $79,500–$80,000 Key resistance level
Resistance 3 $80,700–$82,000 Zone for a stronger breakout
Potential BTC trading plans
- Long position entry: Look for a confirmed recovery around the $76,200–$76,600 range.
- Take-profit 1: $78,200–$78,600.
- Take-profit 2: $79,500–$80,000.
- Stop-loss: Below $75,700 (depending on volatility and entry confirmation).
- Breakout strategy: A long position may be considered following a sustained 4-hour close above $78,600, accompanied by a successful retest. - Bearish scenario: A sustained breakdown below the $76,200 level would open the possibility for the price to retreat first to $75,000, and subsequently to the $71,900–$73,700 range.
These are conditional trading setups; they do not constitute a forecast that the market will necessarily reach these price levels.
2. Gold (XAU/USD)
$3,900–$4,000
Short-term bearish trend
Gold is experiencing significant selling pressure after falling below the psychologically important $4,000 level. However, a technical rebound is possible as momentum indicators approach the "oversold" zone. Support 1 $3,980–$4,000 Key psychological support
Support 2 $3,932–$3,951 Secondary support
Support 3 $3,829–$3,849 Primary downside zone
Resistance 1 $4,012–$4,044 Initial hurdle for a rebound
Resistance 2 $4,074–$4,083 Intermediate resistance
Resistance 3 $4,101–$4,140 Stronger resistance
Potential trading plans for gold
- Long position entry: Only after a bullish reversal is confirmed in the $3,980–$4,000 range.
- Take-profit 1: $4,032–$4,044.
- Take-profit 2: $4,074–$4,083.
- Stop-loss: Below $3,975 for a short-term recovery setup.
- Bearish (short) entry: A confirmed breakdown below $3,980.
- Downside targets: $3,950, followed by $3,830–$3,850.
Rather than buying gold simply because it appears "oversold," I would prefer to wait for confirmation of a reversal.
3. Stocks with upside potential
I would focus on companies with strong earnings potential, competitive advantages, and exposure to long-term growth themes. However, the current market environment calls for caution.
On October 30, U.S. markets experienced a significant sell-off:
- Tech stocks came under pressure due to concerns regarding artificial intelligence (AI) spending and valuations.
- Intel shares fell by approximately 29% following a disappointing earnings forecast.
This makes selective buying more attractive than purchasing the entire tech sector indiscriminately. My Watchlist
1. NVIDIA (NVDA)
Wait for confirmation of a reversal
AI accelerators, data centers, GPU infrastructure
- Reference price: approx. $205
- Support: $200–$205
- Stronger support: $194–$195
- Resistance: $211–$215
- Stronger resistance: $219–$225
- Potential profit-taking: $215, followed by $220–$225.
2. Broadcom (AVGO)
Monitor reactions at support levels
Custom AI chips, networking technologies, semiconductor infrastructure
- Reference price: approx. $332
- Support: $328–$332
- Lower support level: $318–$320
- Resistance: $338–$343
- Stronger resistance: $349–$350
- Potential profit-taking levels: $343, followed by $349–$350.
3. Micron Technology (MU)
Long-term sector monitoring
High Bandwidth Memory, advanced DRAM and AI memory infrastructure
- Investment thesis: Growing demand for high-bandwidth memory and advanced memory solutions.
- Key catalysts: HBM production, customer demand, pricing, and capacity discipline.
- Main risk: Cyclicality in the semiconductor sector and high valuation expectations.
Without current, verified price data and a chart, I would prefer not to fabricate specific support and resistance levels.
My assessment: I am adding Micron to my long-term fundamental analysis watchlist, while viewing NVIDIA and AVGO as trades with potential for a technical rebound. At current levels, none of them provide a definitive "buy" signal.
The broader market faces a significant test next week, driven by upcoming financial results from companies such as AMD, Apple, Qualcomm, and Palantir, alongside other economic developments. Price gaps that may emerge following the release of corporate earnings could invalidate setups that currently appear technically attractive.
Reuters
4. Suggested take-profit and stop-loss framework
For the assets mentioned above, we can consider the following conditional levels:
NVDA $211–215 $219–225 Below $200
AVGO $338–343 $349–350 Below $328
BTC $78,200–78,600 $79,500–80,000 Below $75,700
Gold $4,032–4,044 $4,074–4,083 Below $3,975
When entering a trade near a support level, the stop-loss should generally be set slightly beyond the support zone, taking into account typical market volatility. The invalidation levels provided above serve as reference points; they should not be considered absolute or universal stop-loss prices.
My preferred risk management rules:
1. Do not risk more than 0.5%–1% of your total trading capital on any single trade. 2. Aim for a risk/reward ratio of at least 1:2.
3. Take partial profits at the first resistance level.
4. As the trade moves in your favor, adjust your stop-loss level to protect your capital.
5. Avoid opening large positions just before major corporate earnings announcements.
