Intel reported third quarter revenue of 16.51 billion dollars, up 21 percent from a year earlier, while adjusted earnings per share reached 52 cents. Both figures topped analyst estimates. However, shares dropped after the company guided fourth quarter revenue to a range of 15 to 16 billion dollars, below the 17 billion dollar consensus. The stock fell more than 20 percent in after hours trading. On Gate, the tokenized Intel tracker INTCG fell nearly 30 percent within the session.

Two main forces drove the guidance down. First, personal computer chip sales came in at 8.1 billion dollars, missing the 8.8 billion dollar target, and management expects the PC slowdown to continue at least through the first half of next year. Second, a deadly explosion at Intel plant in Kiryat Gat, Israel, is expected to reduce fourth quarter revenue by roughly 300 million dollars and shave about 200 basis points from gross margin. The company plans to resume production at that facility by the end of the week.

For you, this split matters. Data center and artificial intelligence revenue jumped 78 percent to 7.3 billion dollars, showing strong demand for server chips. Yet the near term outlook is weighed down by a supply shock and weak consumer demand.

Markets are watching whether the Israel facility can recover on schedule and whether PC demand stabilizes. Analysts note that if supply constraints ease and data center momentum continues, sentiment may improve. If the PC slowdown deepens, pressure may persist. I am holding my positions and watching the market. What signal matters more to you here, the data center growth or the guidance miss. This is not financial advice. #IntelBeatsEarningsButStockPlunges

Data center growth of 78% is real money, but the market is fixated only on the Q4 guidance cut—the short-term sentiment-driven selloff has been way too harsh

The PC chip miss against the 8.8B target is a major blow; consumer-side weakness will persist at least through H1 next year, and this narrative will be hard to turn around
