HYPE is trading near 91.64 dollars, down 4.10 percent in the last 24 hours. It touched a low of 88.50 dollars after testing a high of 96.61 dollars. This pullback comes after a sharp rally earlier in the week. The token briefly moved toward its record high near 98 dollars.

The rally followed a major announcement. Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, is partnering with Trade xyz to build a regulated perpetual futures market in the United States. Veteran investor Stanley Druckenmiller disclosed a position in Trade xyz. If approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the venue would offer round the clock trading in crypto, equities, commodities, and currencies. This remains an early stage plan with no confirmed timeline.

Onchain data adds context. The Hyperliquid Assistance Fund, the vehicle executing the buyback and burn strategy, recently added 60,000 HYPE at an average price near 91.8 dollars. It now holds about 48.38 million HYPE at a total cost near 1.3 billion dollars. United States spot ETFs tracking HYPE also recorded about 3.7 million dollars in single day net inflows on October 29, with the Bitwise product the only one showing inflows. Daily flows remain modest.

The leverage risk is real. A trader known as Machi was liquidated eight times within six hours on Hyperliquid, leaving the account with just 1.50 dollars. This shows how quickly volatile conditions can wipe out heavily leveraged positions.

Markets are watching the regulatory process and whether these institutional channels translate into sustained demand. If the CFTC approves the venue and ETF inflows continue, the ecosystem may gain more support. If the plan stalls or selling pressure builds, volatility may stay elevated. Both directions remain possible.

What matters more to you here, the regulatory progress or the onchain flows.

The buyback fund bought in at an average price of $91.8, and the current price is right on the line. Is this official support or just a coincidence? Feels like someone is drawing the line

Between on-chain data and regulatory progress, I’d choose the latter. Buybacks and burns are already planned, but CFTC approval would be a zero-to-one breakthrough, though it could take six months

The $130 million buyback fund’s position is intimidating, but from another angle, that much selling pressure could crash the market at any time, and official control is a double-edged sword

Machi's lesson: Don't go all in before major bullish news materializes. News-driven markets are most likely to wipe out both longs and shorts, especially when there's no clear timeline

Dropping from 98 to 88 and bouncing back to 91—this volatility is more intense than some small-cap altcoins. Spot traders are shaking just holding on, let alone futures traders.
