Is $77,000 a buying opportunity, or the beginning of a deeper correction?

In the medium term, I remain cautiously optimistic (bullish); however, in the short term, I am taking a bearish stance until Bitcoin confirms that it has established a support level.

A pullback from above $80,000 to around $77,000 does not necessarily mean the end of the bull trend. Nevertheless, I would not rush to buy simply because the price has dropped.

The key distinction lies in determining which of the following scenarios is unfolding:

* A correction driven by liquidations: The clearing out of leveraged long positions, followed by a reduction in selling pressure and a subsequent recovery in BTC.

* A breakdown in the trend: Buyers withdrawing from the market, support levels failing, and the market beginning to form a series of lower highs and lower lows.

Rather than trying to catch the exact bottom, I prefer to wait for a signal (confirmation) of a recovery before making any purchases.

1. What is the reason for the decline?

* During the sell-off on October 29, approximately $356 million worth of crypto futures positions were liquidated within 24 hours—$205 million of which were long positions.

* Mixed inflows and outflows for U.S. Bitcoin ETFs make it difficult to gauge whether institutional buyers are entering the market in a consistent manner.

* The U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) kept interest rates unchanged in the 3.75%–4% range but adopted a "hawkish" (pro-tight monetary policy) tone. This could discourage investment in risk assets.

* The sell-off in Asian technology stocks has spilled over into the cryptocurrency markets.

My take: This is not merely a "healthy" liquidation process. While the clearing of leveraged positions could create an opportunity for a recovery, it is still too early to anticipate an immediate rebound, given the current macroeconomic environment and weak price structure.

2. Bitcoin price levels I will be monitoring

Using approximately $77,000 as a reference price, here are the levels I am watching. These should be viewed as zones for technical planning rather than definitive support or resistance points. BTC trading levels:

Major resistance

$84,000 – $85,000

Intermediate resistance

$81,000 – $82,000

Initial recovery threshold

$79,500 – $80,000

Key support zone

$76,500 – $77,600

Lower support level to watch

$73,000 – $74,000

These levels are based on specific scenarios I have outlined. The $77,600 zone also stands out as a significant on-chain support point in recent market analyses.

In my view, the most critical levels are $77,000 and $80,000. * Maintaining the $77,000 level and seeing the price climb back above $80,000 would strengthen the recovery scenario.

* Losing the $76,500 level—confirmed by a decisive daily close—would increase the risk of a deeper correction.

* Reclaiming the $82,000 level would serve as stronger evidence that buyers have regained control.

3. Where would I buy BTC?

If I were planning to open a new position, I would avoid deploying all my capital at once.

My preferred strategy would be to buy in stages:

First buy: $76,500 – $77,500 (25%)
Second buy: $73,500 – $74,500 (35%)
Third buy: $70,000 – $71,500 (40%)

If BTC does not drop to the $76,500 level but instead rises above $80,000 and successfully retests that level, I might consider a smaller, momentum-based entry rather than waiting indefinitely for a lower price.

4. Three possible scenarios

Bullish recovery

BTC holds the $76,500–$77,600 range, reclaims $80,000, and advances toward the $82,000–$85,000 zone. Horizontal consolidation

As the market absorbs selling pressure, BTC fluctuates between approximately $76,500 and $80,000.

A deeper correction

If BTC loses the $76,500 level and fails to reclaim it, the next zone I would watch is the $73,000–$74,000 range.

5. My final outlook

Preferred approach: Gradual accumulation

I lean toward the possibility that Bitcoin could recover over time; however, I cannot definitively state that the $77,000 level is a confirmed bottom.

Preferred approach:

* Avoid leveraged trading.

* Keep a portion of your capital in reserve.

* Enter with a small position around the $77,000 level only once selling pressure begins to weaken.

* Increase your position if BTC confirms a support level or reclaims $80,000.

* If the $76,500 zone is broken decisively to the downside, re-evaluate the bullish scenario.

Are you planning to buy Bitcoin for a short-term trade (lasting a few days or weeks), or are you considering holding it for 6–12 months? This distinction would significantly alter my ideal entry price, risk management, and purchasing strategy.
