Zcash (ZEC): October 29–31 Close and November 2026 Outlook
Market assessment as of October 29, 2026 · Prices are in USD
I am maintaining a cautious stance in the short term; an upward recovery is possible if the support level holds and buyers return. Although Zcash has shown a strong long-term uptrend, recent price action points to significant selling pressure. I would not engage in aggressive buying simply because the price has dropped.

1. What is happening with ZEC?
My outlook is shaped by three observations:
* Short-term momentum is weak. ZEC has fallen below the recent $1,300 level and is trading near its 24-hour low.
* The broader trend presents a more complex picture. Despite recent weakness, ZEC has recorded an increase of approximately 173% over the last three months and 138% year-to-date. This indicates that the current pullback is occurring following a significant rally.
* The cryptocurrency market as a whole is under pressure. The same market-tracking platform reports that Bitcoin has lost approximately 4.1% of its value over the past seven days, while Ethereum has declined by about 13.1%. Therefore, the weakness in ZEC is not an isolated case.
My take: ZEC is currently in a correction or consolidation phase following a major rally. A recovery remains possible; however, at this stage, buyers need to demonstrate that they can defend key support levels.
2. Support and resistance levels
The levels below are derived from a combination of market data as of October 29 and technical analysis. Please consider these as zones to monitor, rather than definitive reversal points. Reference price: approximately $1,252
Key upside target
$1,386 – $1,397
Next target upon confirmation of a breakout
Major resistance
$1,350 – $1,364
Confirmation zone for a bullish breakout
Short-term resistance
$1,317 – $1,339
First significant hurdle in the recovery process
Current reference
$1,250
Approximate price as of October 29
Short-term support
$1,230 – $1,264
A critical zone; currently under pressure
Lower support zone
$1,187 – $1,200
Next lower zone to watch if weakness persists
Deeper support
$1,058 – $1,090
Potential zone for a deeper correction
The chart is schematic in nature; it does not represent prices on a proportional scale. The $1,264 level is taken from the published technical analysis.
How do I interpret these levels?
* $1,230: Based on intraday low data, this is the first zone that requires close monitoring. A drop below this level would weaken the short-term outlook.
* $1,187 – $1,200: A potential next buying zone should the sell-off continue. Rather than placing a blind order, I would prefer to see evidence that the price has stabilized.
* $1,317 – $1,339: The first major hurdle for a recovery. * $1,350–$1,364: A key zone for confirming a bullish outlook. A sustained daily close above this level would strengthen the expectation for further upside.
* $1,386–$1,397, followed by $1,470: Potential upside targets, contingent upon a sustained breakout.
The $1,350 level is particularly significant; a technical analysis suggests that this level acts as the neckline for a potential "inverse head and shoulders" pattern. The $1,780 target implied by this pattern depends on a valid breakout occurring—therefore, this is not my base-case scenario.
3. My buying zones and invalidation levels
Depending on price action, two potential entry strategies can be considered.
Plan A: Buying upon confirmation that support is holding
This approach is preferred when the support level remains intact.
Monitoring zone: $1,187–$1,230.
Look for a easing of selling pressure, the formation of a higher low, and the price reclaiming a nearby level. The lower boundary of this zone could serve as a potential entry area, provided the market signals a reversal.
Plan B: Buying on a retest following a breakout
A confirmed entry.
Trigger: A sustained move above the $1,350–$1,364 range.
Wait for a retest where the breakout zone acts as support. Although this approach may cause you to forgo some gains during the initial phase of an upward move, it reduces the risk of getting caught in a failed recovery attempt.
Invalidation: For Plan A, a sustained breakdown below the support zone—which served as the basis for your entry—invalidates the setup. If the $1,187–$1,200 level is decisively lost, the lower $1,058–$1,090 zone comes into play. For Plan B, a return below the previously breached breakout level indicates that the breakout has failed.
These are technical invalidation criteria; they do not guarantee that orders will be executed at any specific price. Please take into account ZEC’s volatility and transaction fees.
4. How might ZEC close out the period of October 29–31?
My assessment for the remainder of October is based on several different scenarios:
Sideways or weak performance
ZEC attempts to stabilize around $1,230; however, any upward movement encounters resistance at $1,264 and subsequently at $1,317. A failure to reclaim these levels leaves the market vulnerable to a retest of the support zone.
Recovery
Buyers defend the recent low, reclaim the $1,264 level, and push past the $1,317–$1,339 range. A breakout above the $1,350–$1,364 level strengthens the possibility of a recovery toward the $1,386–$1,470 range.
Deeper decline
ZEC falls below the $1,230 level and fails to recover. In this scenario, the next zone to watch is the $1,187–$1,200 level; should selling pressure intensify, a pullback toward the $1,058–$1,090 range is possible.
I believe price action may remain sideways or lean toward a downward trend until ZEC reclaims the $1,317–$1,364 range. Without stronger confirmation from intraday and daily charts, it would be premature to make a definitive prediction regarding the closing price for October 31.
5. Could ZEC see an upward trend in November?
There is a potential catalyst for this: Zcash’s planned network upgrade. A report released on October 27 mentions an update—slated for early November—that aims to reduce block times from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. The market has already begun to react to the anticipation of this upgrade; consequently, the development could either trigger a new wave of buying or result in a "sell the news" reaction.
November Outlook
Bullish Confirmation
If ZEC maintains its support level, Bitcoin stabilizes, and ZEC closes above $1,364 on stronger trading volume, the next area to monitor will be the $1,386–$1,470 range.
Neutral Consolidation
A scenario in which ZEC trades roughly between $1,187 and $1,364. In this scenario, rather than chasing price breakouts, it is a more logical approach to buy near confirmed support levels and take profits at resistance levels.
Continuation of the decline
A breakdown of the support in the $1,187–$1,200 range, combined with Bitcoin remaining weak and an increase in selling volume, would signal further downside. I would refrain from opening new long positions until a new base has formed.
6. My trading plan
If I were to trade ZEC over the next few sessions, my approach would be as follows:
* Do not chase the current price. Even if the price is near the day’s lows, this does not, by itself, mean a bottom has formed.
* Use confirmed entries. Either wait for a reversal from a support level or observe a breakout followed by a successful retest.
* Define your stop-loss level before entering a trade. Place the stop-loss beyond the technical point that would invalidate your trade thesis; this allows for normal market volatility without taking on more risk than you intended.
* Take partial profits at resistance levels. If a recovery is confirmed, watch the $1,317–$1,339 range first, followed by the $1,350–$1,364 zone and higher resistance areas.
* Keep your position size small. Risking approximately 0.5%–1% of your capital on a single trade setup is a conservative approach. however, this does not constitute a guarantee against losses.
Final view
If the upgrade in November boosts market sentiment and the market confirms a recovery, ZEC has the potential for a significant upside. Given the recent weakness, however, I would prioritize the confirmation of support over mere expectations.
My preferred approach is to wait for either a confirmed reversal near support or a sustained breakout above the $1,350–$1,364 level. If support breaks, I would focus on preserving capital rather than automatically "averaging down."
One final distinction: these are levels for short-term trading, not a long-term valuation of Zcash. While the network’s development and adoption may prove constructive over time, this does not preclude sharp price declines in the short term.
