THE GHOST TRADE: THE MONEY I NEVER LOST

One night, I watched a crypto chart and imagined a trade that could change my day.

The setup looked tempting. The price was moving, the opportunity seemed close, and every second of waiting felt like watching money disappear.

But something was missing: confirmation.

So I waited.

The price moved without me. For a moment, I felt disappointed. I had no profit to celebrate, no position to show, and no exciting screenshot to share.

Then I realized something unusual.

I was grieving a loss I had never actually suffered.

I had mentally spent a profit that was never mine, and I was disappointed by money I had never earned.

That is the strangest ghost in trading: the imaginary version of what could have happened.

It haunts us with perfect entries, perfect exits, and profits that exist only in our minds. And when we chase those imaginary gains, we risk turning a missed opportunity into a real loss.

That night left me with a different definition of success.

Sometimes, a good trading decision produces no screenshot, no profit notification, and no story about catching the market perfectly.

Sometimes, success is simply the loss that never happened because we had the patience not to enter.

This Halloween, I am giving that invisible trade a name: THE GHOST OF UNREALIZED PROFITS.

It can haunt my imagination, but it will not control my next decision.

Because not every opportunity deserves an entry, and not every missed profit is a failure.
